Candice left the Harman family’s grand hall and made her way around the corner.
Bettina and her car were waiting for her.
Candice slid into the passenger seat, fastened her seatbelt, and said, “Let’s go back to the resort.”
Bettina released the handbrake, started the car, and drove. “How did it go? Was Rachel really expelled from the Harman family?” she asked while driving.
Candice nodded. “Yes. She signed the divorce agreement, and the servants threw out all her belongings. They practically kicked her out.”
Bettina patted the steering wheel merrily and cheered, “She deserves it. But just being kicked out of the Harman family seems too easy for her. Anyway, did she get a large amount of alimony?”
Candice shrugged. “I don’t know. But Greyson said he wouldn’t let Rachel get the money smoothly.”
“Well, that’s possible. Sounds like something Greyson would do,” Bettina sneered.
She curled her lips and continued, “Although Greyson is a man of few words, once offended, he will seek revenge even for the pettiest things.”
“Whatever. I don’t care,” Candice sighed, rubbing the space between her eyebrows.
“Rachel should have stayed in prison,” Bettina complained angrily.
Candice shook her head, disappointed. “You should know there isn’t enough evidence to charge Rachel as a criminal. There’s almost no possibility of prosecution. Besides, I can’t prove the things I suffered because of her. Everything was done by Madilyn. Rachel was at most an accomplice.”
“Speaking of Madilyn, she’ll only be detained for fifteen days. How’s that enough? Why wasn’t her case handed over to the prosecutor’s office for investigation? Candice, why didn’t you file for criminal prosecution?” Bettina asked, puzzled.

At the time, I doubted Madilyn’s capability, but I thought it was because I was incompetent. Then, on my wedding night, Madilyn set me up again.
