Chapter 425
Chapter 425:
“Why are you saying that, Betty? It’s obvious that you care about me. When I touched you last night, I could tell you hadn’t slept with anyone else. I know you go to bars often, but you keep yourself clean and only have sex with me. I know everything,” Bart said, sounding a bit hurt.
Bettina used to be softhearted and easily deceived by Bart. However, she had never believed his words since discovering his lies.
She sneered and retorted, “Bart, don’t be so full of yourself. Want to know where I was last night? I woke up in another man’s bed this morning. You think I only sleep with you? Why? Listen, I can be with anyone I want. Men are like clothes. I can change them whenever I please!”
Bart’s voice trembled with anger. “You can’t afford to provoke me like this. Who were you with last night? I won’t let him go if I find out!”
Bettina hung up, not wanting to listen to any more of Bart’s nonsense. She had hoped never to cross paths with him again, but fate had other plans.
Soon, the taxi arrived at Harmony Hospital.
Bettina quickly paid and got out of the car. Without hesitation, she called Greyson. She figured it was better to ask him directly for Candice’s ward number than waste time trying to find it herself. After all, this was Greyson’s territory.
“Hey, Greyson, where is Candice’s ward? I need to see her,” Bettina asked straightforwardly when he answered the phone.
After a brief pause, Greyson responded, “She’s in VIP Room 502.”
Greyson hung up and pushed open the door to the VIP ward where Candice lay. Nurses had informed him that Candice was experiencing severe uterine contractions. Greyson had been in the office last night when he received the news and rushed to see her immediately.
Candice lay on the white bed, her delicate frame curled in agony. Her body twitched uncontrollably.
The pain was so intense she hadn’t expected to feel it in the middle of the night. After surgery, her mental state had improved, and she expected to be discharged soon. However, the sudden severe contractions were unexpected.

It was three o’clock in the morning when Candice jolted awake, writhing in unrelenting pain. As time passed, the pain intensified.
Candice had always been able to tolerate pain, but this was something else entirely.
Gradually, she reached her breaking point.
Her body was drenched in cold sweat, and her clothes looked as if they had just been pulled from water. She was in such misery that her scalp went numb.
Desperate for relief, Candice called for help from the nearby nurses’ station.
To her surprise, it was Greyson himself who appeared. She realized this was his domain, and all the staff were under his watch, so it made sense he would know about her condition quickly.
As Greyson approached, he asked, “Candice, are you okay? Is it very painful?”
Noticing her discomfort, Greyson gently stroked her and checked her forehead. Fortunately, she had no fever or secondary infection.
