Chapter 967
Chapter 973:
Candice was surprised at how Rachel had come to such a situation. She vividly recalled Rachel’s divorce from Lamont, which had entailed a three-hundred-million-dollar settlement. In theory, Rachel should have been leading a comfortable life solely on bank interest. How could she end up like this?
“Call the police? I should summon them! Tell me, Greyson, did you establish a shell company that siphoned off all my money? Did you hire some people to pretend to be busy every day? And a bogus manager who promised substantial returns and allowed me to witness others amassing fortunes? Then, you sweetened the deal, and I reaped some benefits. After investing every cent, the company vanished without a trace. Did you do it?” Rachel bellowed, her voice filled with fury.
Laden with rage, yearning to tear Greyson apart, Rachel shouted, “Are you even a man? I used to be your mother! I contributed to your upbringing. How can you do this to me?”
Security personnel hurried in, restraining Rachel.
Greyson sneered. “You were my mother? Do you deserve that title? My biological mother was Gilda, born into a medical family. Due to my father’s affair, she fell into depression and succumbed to illness early. You, on the other hand, are a homewrecker. You deceived me and shattered my marriage. How many misdeeds have you committed? Must I enumerate them? Furthermore, you fell victim to a money scam. What does it have to do with me? Any rational person in your shoes wouldn’t have been fooled. Your own greed led to your downfall.”
He despised Rachel with every fiber of his being.
If they hadn’t intervened on their wedding night, he would have discovered the truth a decade ago. He and Candice wouldn’t be in this irreparable state now.
And it all began with the detestable woman before him.
There was no way he would let her escape the consequences.
What Greyson wanted was for Rachel to receive the alimony and ultimately meet a miserable fate, which he believed she deserved. In fact, Greyson thought he had gone easy on her. If Candice were willing to reconcile with him, he might consider letting go of Rachel. But for now, his desire was to see Rachel suffer, even though it wouldn’t erase the hatred in his heart.

Rachel’s anger flared, her face turning shades of purple and blue. She kicked wildly at Greyson, though she couldn’t reach him, all while under the control of the security guards.
“You are not surprised at all. How dare you deny it? You set a trap for me! You said I am greedy. It’s you! Bastard, I’ve done so much for the Harman family over the years, and you even took back the alimony. I tell you, I won’t give up. I will sue you! I will sue you!”
Now, Candice finally understood what had happened. It suddenly occurred to her that Greyson had told her, “Can’t you see that I made this happen for you? I just want a chance to be with you again. Although Rachel would get three hundred million in alimony, I can guarantee that she will not use the money smoothly. In the future, she will only be down and out. It is what she deserves.”
Indeed, it transpired that Greyson had orchestrated a cunning trap, creating a shell company to lure Rachel in. Candice narrowed her eyes. Greyson harbored a deep-seated and ruthless animosity towards Rachel.
