Chapter 792
Chapter 792:
The sight of her, livid yet adorable, amused Milton.
Just then, the doorbell broke the silence with its abrupt ring.
The room was situated a considerable distance from the door, requiring people to navigate through a corridor and make a turn. However, all the doorbells in the house were equipped with intelligent features, so even within the room, the ringing of the doorbell was audible.
Milton furrowed his brows and glanced at the clock. They had been together for quite some time, and it was now past seven o’clock. Who could possibly be arriving at this hour?
Candice, on the other hand, was in no mood to rise. Her hunger pangs were growing, and she longed for a delectable dinner in the dining room. Yet, her strength seemed to have vanished.
With a sigh, she claimed the entire blanket, wrapping it snugly around herself.
“Answer the door. I’m in no condition to move,” she grumbled, snorting in displeasure.
Milton just beamed at her, predicting her irritation would last for a while. He caressed her long hair and uttered soothingly, “Let it be. Jarrod is keeping a watch at the door. He’ll handle any unimportant visitors and will let us know if anything requires our attention. Are you hungry? I’ll fetch some food for you.”
Her silence implied her agreement. A chuckle escaped Milton’s lips as he slid off the bed. He struggled to fasten his robe’s belt, then turned and caught a glimpse of her turning back.
“Could you assist me with my clothes, at the very least?”
“Nope.” Candice chose to disregard Milton entirely, burying her head in the cozy warmth of the quilt.
Milton could only shrug and loosely tie his robe, revealing his muscular chest.

Just then, a murmur from the other side of the door drifted in.
“Mrs. Lopez, Mr. Lopez hasn’t been informed yet. It might not be suitable for you to enter like this,” Jarrod’s voice sounded.
“What? He had a car accident. Why was I kept in the dark about such a grave matter? I just found out!” Erica’s voice echoed, filled with anxiety.
“How is he? Is he badly hurt? I won’t believe a word until I see it for myself!” Despite Jarrod’s dissuasion, Erica lunged at the door. Without a second thought, she twisted the doorknob and barged in.
Milton heard Erica’s footsteps too late to stop her. He darted toward the room’s door, but Erica had already entered.
They met each other head-on.
Milton’s forehead creased slightly. Leaning his left arm against the door, he tried to dissuade her. “Don’t enter.”
Erica froze, unprepared for the sight. Her son stood in front of her, clad in a silk robe, his hair still damp, and his robe loosely fastened, revealing his muscular chest. Apart from his right arm slung in a cast, everything else seemed normal.
