Chapter 887
Chapter 890:
Erica nodded and said, “Okay. However, I will only listen. I won’t give my opinion or vote.”
Anson understood and nodded. Mrs. Lopez had always been a wise woman.
There was a slight murmur among the group members as they slowly entered the meeting room and took their seats. They looked at each other in slight confusion as Boden closed the door. Bart sat opposite Bettina and looked at her with gloomy eyes.
His gaze made Bettina uneasy. She knew Candice might have something important to do tonight. Bettina couldn’t help but feel nervous, squirming in her seat.
Raul, who sat beside her, noticed her uneasiness and quietly placed his hand on hers under the table. It was both to warm and comfort her.
Bettina felt the warmth of Raul’s hand, and some of her nervousness eased. She took a deep breath and calmed down.
Anson walked to the head of the meeting room table and looked at everyone. “I asked everyone to come here tonight because I’ve gotten some inside information, and let me tell you, it’s huge.”
Every gaze in the room landed on Anson as he announced, “According to the information provided by the Hope Law Firm, we’re going to purchase the Karen Steel Company.”
This revelation sent a wave of shock throughout the crowd. The acquisition would secure Royal Garden Corporation’s reigning dominance in the global steel construction sector. No other corporation could rival them anymore.
Even Bart wore a look of disbelief, contemplating whether it was Candice who proposed this idea. How could she do such a thing? Had he underestimated her abilities?
“May I invite Miss Blake to expound on this matter?” Anson then ushered Candice towards the podium.
Candice willingly took center stage, familiar with the directors’ scrutiny. She outlined the imminent bankruptcy of Karen Steel Company, their escalating debt ratio, and most crucially, the projected cost of the acquisition.
𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗱:
The directors couldn’t hide their satisfaction when she quoted an estimate of 20 billion. It was not only a significant undertaking but also an astounding accomplishment.
Leaning against his seat, Bart tapped the table with his index finger, contemplating how to handle the situation. If the acquisition were to succeed, it would prove more challenging for him to undermine Milton’s position within the company. With Candice’s assistance, Milton became more formidable. Irony hit Bart. He had dug his own grave.
Wrapping up her brief, Candice connected a thumb drive to the system.
“I have some basic data and videos for you to review,” she said.
As the screen lit up, she hit play.
But the video didn’t feature the Karen Steel Company. The directors exchanged bewildered glances, even more so when Bart unexpectedly appeared on the screen.
