Chapter 195:
Thinking that his injured arm was the reason he didn’t want to move, Candice got up and went to the bathroom to wet a towel. She was familiar with his mysophobia, so this wasn’t new to her. She began by gently wiping his palms and then carefully cleaning each of his fingers.
Once she was done, she lifted his arm and carefully cleaned the area around the cut. Afterward, she discarded the torn clothes and stained gauze.
Lastly, she took the towel back to the bathroom to clean and dry it.
Meanwhile, Milton was still holding one hand to his forehead. He undid the buttons of his shirt until nearly his whole chest was exposed. His body radiated heat. Damn! The spray wasn’t just ordinary—no wonder it didn’t cause eye irritation.
Just then, Candice emerged from the bathroom, ready to use the towel to wipe his face.
She came back to find his forehead drenched in sweat. Perhaps the pain was more intense than she had feared. Was he really sweating from the pain?
Almost without thinking, she reached for the towel to dab at his perspiration.
However, as soon as the towel touched his face, Milton abruptly and coldly said, “Don’t touch me!”
Candice, alarmed, instinctively withdrew her hand.
She was at a loss. What could possibly be wrong with him? Was he in a terrible mood? Was he angry again?
She had only been attending to his wound for his own good, so why was he angry now?
Lips pursed, she said, “If there’s nothing else, I’ll leave.”
Milton, still feeling discomfort, replied, “I’d love a glass of water, please.”
He could feel the blood vessels on both sides of his temples ready to burst as he massaged them.
He knew things were different this time. The illusion had been so strong last time that it clouded his judgment and made him dizzy. This time, it was only the aphrodisiac, and all he felt was physical discomfort.
Candice poured him a glass of water, though she felt uneasy about his authoritative tone.

Milton felt a severe dryness in his throat. The moment a glass of water was placed in his hand, he lifted his head and gulped it down.

He was nearly overcome by an inexplicable wave of desire. He was on the verge of losing control.
Candice said, “I’m going,” after seeing that he had finished his water.
As she turned to leave, though, he grabbed her wrist and wouldn’t let go.
In an instant, she was being pulled toward him.
She stumbled and fell onto the sofa.
At that moment, Milton realized he needed to let her go.
