Chapter 351

Chapter 351:
Wendell smiled warmly and congratulated her. “Congratulations on your wedding!”
Candice shrugged and admitted, “Actually, I got divorced on the second day.” She trusted Wendell and believed in being transparent with her therapist. After all, psychiatrists are obligated to protect patient confidentiality.
Wendell was taken aback. “Now that you can talk about it calmly, have you been able to let go?” he asked with genuine concern.
“Maybe,” Candice nodded, appearing more relaxed. “When an unsuitable marriage ends early, it can be a relief for both parties. There’s no need to keep struggling, and I’ve come to terms with that.”
“That’s good to hear,” Wendell said, nodding. “During the time you missed your therapy sessions, did you experience any PTSD attacks?”
Candice answered honestly, “Yes, there were two instances. In the first, I was able to control it, but in the second, it was more severe, and I passed out for a while.” She recalled nearly having a fit when Greyson gave her the keys to the Porsche—the first instance. The other was when Milton asked her to drive, but she couldn’t control herself, had a PTSD attack on the spot, and after she passed out, he took her back to his house.
Wendell furrowed his brow. “Looks like we need to reevaluate your current state.”
He produced a few sheets of paper. “First, take this mental state assessment questionnaire. It won’t take long.”
“Alright.” Candice accepted the questionnaire, grabbed a pen, answered the questions, and finished within ten minutes.
She handed the paper back to Wendell.
“Now, lie down on the sofa over there. We’ll begin the deep hypnotherapy session, just like last time. While you’re under hypnosis, I’ll ask you some questions. You may not recall them when you wake up. Are you ready to proceed?” Wendell asked calmly.
“Sure,” Candice said with a nod.
“Okay, please sign here,” Wendell replied, handing her the consent form for hypnosis.

Candice quickly signed her name and lay down on the sofa.
She closed her eyes and cleared her mind of all thoughts. When Wendell snapped his fingers, Candice’s consciousness faded, and she fell asleep.
When she regained consciousness, she blinked at the snow-white wallpaper surrounding her and took a moment to remember what was happening.
The clock on the wall showed it was four in the afternoon.
Candice stood up, feeling more tired and dizzy than before the hypnotherapy.
“Dr. Haynes, why was I out for so long? May I know my condition?” she asked politely.
Wendell, sitting at his desk flipping through documents, looked up as Candice approached. He clasped his fingers and answered gently, “The treatment ended some time ago. I let you sleep an extra twenty minutes because you looked exhausted. To be honest, I’m a bit confused. Your assessment questionnaire and the hypnotherapy results don’t quite align.”
