Candice remained silent, unaware of the current circumstances surrounding the Lopez family.

In a large household, it’s impractical for a wife to oversee everything. The noble ladies are aware of this reality, but they prefer to ignore it. “And your point is?” Candice’s patience was wearing thin.
“Candice, your talents don’t go unnoticed. I could use someone like you. The Olson family holds considerable sway in the art world. You understand maintaining a positive image for the auction house is crucial. I need someone competent. If you serve the Olson family, I can provide you with numerous cases, and the commission will be no less than what Erica gives.”
Candice cut her off mid-sentence. “I’m afraid I must decline. My caseload is already overwhelming. However, I can recommend other capable lawyers if you want.”
Paisley’s response was a smile. “Hold on. Let me finish. I guarantee you, once Milton and Sigrid are wed, you’ll have my blessing to be Milton’s mistress.”
After Paisley concluded her words, Candice froze, remaining motionless for a prolonged period of time.
Thoughts raced through Candice’s mind as she questioned whether she had misheard. Was Paisley suggesting that she become nothing more than Milton’s mistress?

Paisley didn’t miss a beat, stating, “Let me put it bluntly. Sigrid and Milton will get married eventually. After thinking for a while, she added, “I’m even open to the idea of you bearing a child, but not until Sigrid has had the firstborn. Also, you must sign an agreement stating your child will not inherit more than 2% of the Lopez family’s shares. Candice, 2% is a significant share for you. I’m the only one who can make this happen. Sigrid is my flesh and blood. I know her better than anyone. She might resist initially, but I’ll gradually convince her. Eventually, she will come around.”
Upon hearing this, Candice was left speechless for a while. It was beyond her imagination to become a mistress, receive a marriage certificate in a foreign land, remarry overseas, and give birth to a child out of wedlock under an agreement.
