Chapter 347

Chapter 347:
While the front desk lady spoke, she retrieved the lunch boxes from the bags and set them on the conference table.
“The First Prize Restaurant? It’s almost impossible to get takeout from there, and some people have to make a reservation at least six months in advance. It’s a restaurant that specializes in… ”
The famous dishes were from all over the world. How could we have possibly gotten a delivery?” Of course, Mona had heard about the First Prize Restaurant. However, the lunch boxes did bear the exclusive logo of the First Prize Restaurant on the outer packaging.
Bettina opened all the boxes and saw that they were all the restaurant’s special dishes. Each box was neatly packed, containing six delicate dishes, including their famous signature vegetable soup.
“Oh my gosh, are these custom boxes from the First Prize Restaurant? Did they make them just for us so we can have a meeting while enjoying a scrumptious meal?” Bettina exclaimed, looking at the boxes in amazement. She then turned to Candice in surprise.
Candice shrugged, avoiding Bettina’s gaze. “Don’t look at me. I didn’t order them.”
Deep down, Candice knew it was Milton who had arranged for the boxes to be delivered. Who else could it be but the one who had shares in the restaurant? He was aware she had a partners’ meeting, and since it was lunchtime, he had the boxes sent over.
“You didn’t order the food, but Milton did, right?” Bettina handed out the boxes to everyone. “He was probably worried you wouldn’t get to eat lunch on time. In that case, how can I bear to delay your lunch? I can’t get him upset. Let’s eat now and then proceed with the meeting later.”
Candice was stunned. Mona grinned as she began to eat. “Make sure to thank Milton for me,” she said.
Candice’s heart swelled as she looked at her favorite dishes laid out before her.
Just yesterday morning, Candice had woken up and weighed herself. She had noticed a little extra weight around her midsection recently and checked her weight. To her surprise, she had gained five pounds. She hadn’t gained that much weight since college. Her late eating habits and poor digestion were likely to blame. She couldn’t gain just one pound before, let alone five.

However, since Milton had moved into Raul’s apartment across from hers, he had been making sure she ate all her meals on time, day and night, for the past month.
He was really going above and beyond to take care of her.
After all the partners finished their lunch, Bettina asked the receptionist to clear away the lunch boxes before they resumed their meeting.
“Do you have anything planned for this afternoon?” Bettina asked Candice, flipping through the notebook in her hand.
Candice glanced at her watch and responded, “I have to head out in an hour.”
Today, Candice had scheduled an appointment with a psychologist. After losing her parents in a car accident, she had been struggling with severe PTSD and had been receiving psychological treatment. Since marrying Greyson, she had neglected her therapy. Wendell Haynes, her therapist, had called her a few days ago, urging her not to ignore her psychological health. So she agreed to resume her treatment.
