“I’ve got an update for you on Candice,” Mario said, his tone serious. “Remember how you asked me to keep an eye on her? Well, she’s registered at East Hospital and is pregnant. I had someone monitor her and got some news this morning. She made an appointment with the department of gynecology and obstetrics,” Mario informed Greyson.
Greyson sprang to his feet. “Is the doctor one of your people? Did you arrange everything like we discussed?”
Mario’s family owned a medical equipment factory that produced heart stents, and Greyson had promised to purchase a batch from them in exchange for information on Candice’s treatment.
Mario’s voice came through the phone. “The doctor Candice was assigned to wasn’t one of my people. But I managed to temporarily send that doctor elsewhere. Essie Murray is the one who took over, and she works for me. When Candice arrives at the hospital, the nurse at the front desk will tell her the original doctor has been transferred. She won’t suspect a thing. I’ve asked Essie to keep you updated on Candice’s diagnosis.”

“Alright, give Essie my number and tell her to call me with any updates. I want to know everything about Candice’s treatment,” Greyson said, standing in front of the window, looking out at the gloomy city.
