With those words, Greyson turned and sprinted toward his Maybach.
Upon reaching the car, he saw Milton still performing rescue breathing on Candice. Seeing their lips pressed together made him uncomfortable, but he knew there was no better option. Saving her life was the top priority, so he had to let Milton continue until Candice regained her composure.
Milton kept his head down, gently holding her chin, and pressed his lips against hers once more.
Greyson hastily went to his Maybach.
He had hoped to see Candice in the afternoon, but a call to the front desk of the law firm confirmed that she had gone home. In fact, he knew where Candice now resided. As it turned out, she was living at the Blake family’s villa once again.
So he hastily checked out of Harmony Hospital and headed towards Candice’s house.
As soon as he arrived, he came across a car accident. His immediate concern for Candice stemmed from his acute intuition. He jumped out of the vehicle and ran to the scene. Unexpectedly, he saw what he didn’t want to see. He opened the trunk and took out a tranquilizer, injector, and oxygen mask.
He hurried back to Candice’s side as soon as possible.
When Milton saw that Greyson had brought a tranquilizer, he gently laid Candice on the ground, holding her head in his palm.
Greyson tossed Milton the oxygen mask and started making the injection as quickly as he could.
Right away, Milton strapped the oxygen mask on Candice. The oxygen mask was attached to a small jar that held a supply of oxygen. Candice gradually improved as she continued to take deep breaths of air.
Still, she was visibly shaking, perhaps close to shock. Greyson swiftly rolled up her sleeve and administered the injection to her arm.
The tranquilizer worked almost instantly as it was injected.

At long last, Candice’s shaking subsided. Finally, she collapsed in Milton’s embrace.
Without a word, she closed her eyes. Her face gradually returned to its normal color as the oxygen flow was maintained.
Greyson discarded the injector and exhaled with relief. Sweat dripped down his back. The injection included not just the tranquilizer, but also anti-adrenergic drugs and mood stabilizers.
“She’s going to have a really long nap. When she comes to, she should be OK,” Greyson said.
Milton nodded slightly.
The ambulance arrived just at that moment. Several people exited the vehicle and brought out a stretcher. The middle-aged woman was placed on it and taken into the ambulance. It was unclear whether she was still alive.
One thing could be said with certainty: if Candice’s PTSD had struck and she had waited for the ambulance, it would have been too late. Fortunately, Greyson’s arrival was timely.
