Chapter 214
Chapter 214:
“It contains confidential information about Centilength Biotech’s research and development. I need you to confirm if there’s any infringement,” she explained.
Greyson couldn’t help but feel a sense of satisfaction. He knew Candice couldn’t just leave him now.
However, Greyson was surprised that Candice had managed to obtain such highly classified information. The contents of this file were not easily leaked. Exposing it was like giving away the patent they had worked tirelessly to secure. Despite his surprise, Greyson was impressed by Candice’s resourcefulness.
“It’s none of your business how I got it. I have it now. Just check if there’s any medicine my mother developed,” Candice replied.
“Okay.” Greyson nodded and began examining the contents of the file bag.
After a while, Candice stood up and said, “I’m going to the washroom.” She then left the room.
As Greyson continued reading the documents, his eyes landed on Candice’s phone. She hadn’t responded to any of his messages, which he found hard to believe.
A sudden thought occurred to him.
Greyson wondered if Candice was responding to Milton’s messages instead. And what exactly was the nature of their relationship?
Though he knew it was wrong, a strong impulse drove him to reach for Candice’s phone. He tried to unlock it using his birthday as the password, but it failed. This surprised him, as she had used his birthday as the password for her computer.
Finally, he tried her birthday.
To his relief, the phone unlocked successfully.
Opening WhatsApp, Greyson’s fingers trembled slightly.
The latest message was from “A Client.” The contact displayed the Royal Garden Corporation’s portrait.
Greyson squinted at the screen. Candice’s client was none other than Milton. He realized they had recently been in contact.
Feeling a surge of anger, Greyson clenched his fists and began reading their conversation.

As he continued, his grip on the phone tightened, and he felt a strong urge to crush the screen.
“I’m up. Where are you?” Milton had messaged.
“I’m working,” Candice replied.
“Tonight, I will be having dinner with some people. At precisely…”—
“10:00, it will be over.”
“How do you feel now?”
“How do you think I feel?”
“Come later. You left your clothes in the bathroom.”
The messages were extremely cryptic and suggestive!
Tonight, Milton was attending a dinner party he had been invited to and scheduled for.
