Chapter 916
Chapter 920:
This gave Candice a deep sense of achievement. And it was all thanks to Milton.
Having acquainted herself with the roads, Candice made it to the Royal Garden Corporation’s subsidiary building without incident. Not wishing to linger at the law firm, she parked the car in a spot right by the entrance. Jarrod, who had been shadowing her, drove back to the main office complex.
Exiting the Bentley, Candice crossed paths with Bettina, who was just descending the law firm’s stairs. Taken aback to see Candice behind the wheel, Bettina exclaimed, “You did this on your own? Drove the car back yourself? No one else with you?”
Candice beamed confidently. “Yes. That’s correct.”
“Remarkable!” Bettina cheered, giving a thumbs-up. “Way to go, Candy. You’ve truly conquered your fears. And this new car, it’s stunning.” Bettina observed her vehicle and said, “Mr. Lopez really does have exquisite taste. Mind if I get one of these for myself? I’ll go for red, though, different from yours.”
Candice nonchalantly shrugged. “As you wish.”
“But I have no access to this limited edition. Could you perhaps inquire if Mr. Lopez could arrange a red one for me?” Bettina circled the pristine white Bentley sedan, offering her approval. “The design’s sleek and minimalist. It suits my taste.”
“Okay, I will,” Candice agreed with a nod.
Just then, Raul emerged from the nearby main building. Spotting Bettina, he moved towards her, draped an arm around her shoulder, and proposed, “I’m done for the day. Shall we go?”
Raising her eyebrows, Candice gestured towards them and questioned, “Heading out on a date?”
Bettina patted her short hair and confirmed, “Yep. We’re off to shop and dine.”
Candice gave a warm smile, retorting, “Go ahead. I’ve got some legal matters to handle.”
She bid them goodbye with a wave, saying, “Enjoy!”

Watching Bettina and Raul stroll away, Candice lost herself in thought. It would be wonderful if Bettina could finally move on from her past love life. From what Candice could tell, Raul was good-natured and well-behaved. Plus, he and Bettina shared similar familial roots. He certainly seemed an excellent fit for her.
Checking her watch, Candice wanted to ensure her visit to the law firm was brief.
Suddenly, her phone began to ring. Glancing at the screen, she noticed an unfamiliar foreign number. Candice remembered that Milton had mentioned a designer named Catherine would get in touch.
So, Candice picked up the call.
A sophisticated female voice filled the receiver. “Greetings, Miss Blake. I’m Catherine, a designer. Is it convenient for us to meet now? I’m actually just outside your law firm.” Catherine got straight to the point. With the phone in her hand, Candice heard a voice emanating from behind her.
Candice turned around swiftly to find a professionally dressed woman in a black suit, her hair neatly pinned up. The woman was holding a phone. It had to be Catherine.
Candice put her phone down and greeted the woman with a smile. “Hello, I’m Candice Blake.”
