Chapter 827
Chapter 830:
Just as the door was about to close, Candice hurried after him and said, “Wait a minute. I have a question for you.”
Milton turned back to face her.
Candice blurted out, “I’ve been pondering something. Why doesn’t the Royal Garden Corporation venture into the promising field of biotechnology with its high potential returns?”
Milton responded, “Well, it’s my father’s decision. The group doesn’t engage in biotechnology. Why have you asked?”
Candice was stunned by his response, and her lips trembled.
So, it truly was connected to Milton’s father, Arlo. Greyson hadn’t been spouting gibberish after all.
“What’s the matter? Why are you asking me all of a sudden?” Milton furrowed his brows, puzzled by the expression on Candice’s face.
Candice snapped back to reality and responded, “Oh, it’s nothing. It just crossed my mind. Yesterday, I noticed that Greyson assigned several cases to Mona, all related to acquiring bio-tech companies. It made me wonder why I haven’t seen similar ventures in the Royal Garden Corporation.” Candice quickly came up with an excuse. Although mentioning Greyson was bound to upset Milton, it would divert his attention for now.
As expected, Milton’s face grew dark, and he unhappily questioned, “Are you still concerned about him?”
Candice waved her hands and denied, “No, no. Actually, the last time we were at Harmony Hospital together, Greyson approached me privately and asked me to take over his case. But I declined.”
When he heard that, Milton’s expression softened. “That’s good.” Reaching out, Milton pulled her closer, leaned in, and kissed her lips roughly. “I don’t want to see him bothering you again. If I catch wind of anything, I won’t let him off the hook,” Milton declared coldly.
Candice interjected, “Your businesses don’t overlap. His focus is on hospitals, bio-tech, and pharmaceuticals, all highly lucrative industries.”

“I can make limitless money,” Milton assured, gently brushing his fingers against Candice’s forehead. “I can’t even count how much I have, let alone worry about making more. Even if Greyson monopolizes the entire bio-tech market in Ploville or the entire country, it’s none of my concern. I have no interest in his domain. Since my father didn’t want the group to engage in biotechnology back then, I won’t defy him. But you, stay away from Greyson.”
Milton’s tone carried a subtle warning in the end.
“Promise me I won’t hear his name from you again,” he added.
“Alright.” Candice bent her head and bit her lip. “I… I’ve never met your father.”
Candice knew better than to involve herself in the affairs of the Lopez family. However, it was definitely strange that Candice had seen Milton’s mother but had never crossed paths with his father.
Arlo, the former head of the Lopez family and current chairman of the Royal Garden Corporation, clearly hadn’t passed away since Candice had spotted his name on the shareholders’ list. He was alive, yet he remained under the radar. As the chairman of the board, Arlo had never set foot in the Royal Garden Corporation. Everyone kept him a secret, refraining from discussing or mentioning him. It was the prime of his power, so why did he turn a blind eye to the family business? All the responsibilities had fallen onto Milton’s shoulders. Candice found it incredibly strange.
