Chapter 94:
Raul looked at Milton and said, “Additionally, I found out that Greyson and Candice are actually married. She’s even living at his place on Starsea Street. It couldn’t be wrong. What’s your next move, Milton?”
Raul was familiar with Milton’s impulsive tendencies. He wondered if Milton was going to do something reckless.
As Milton sank into his chair, he stared blankly out the window, lost in thought. Beyond the window, the streetlights flickered in the distance.
Milton crumpled the documents in his hand absentmindedly.
What happened between Candice and Greyson?
Suddenly, Starsea Street came to mind. He remembered dropping Candice off there once. That must be why she didn’t want him to park in front of the right building.
Without a word from Milton, Raul grew concerned.
“What’s on your mind? This situation requires caution. We can’t cross certain boundaries.”
“Boundaries?” Milton sneered at the word. He didn’t give a damn about boundaries.
“How much do you know about Greyson?” Milton asked.
Confusion flashed across Raul’s face. “Why are you asking me? Weren’t you in the same dormitory room with him?”
With a frown, Milton replied, “You know, I rarely stayed in my dormitory room. Most of the time, I was in another country. I hardly had the opportunity to meet him.”
After a brief pause, Raul spoke up. “Greyson was always a loner back then. Only Brooks Glyn seemed to have a good relationship with him. Greyson was an exceptional student and kept to himself most of the time. I don’t know much about him. Speaking of Brooks, do you remember him? He was admitted to Wilmint High School because of his exceptional academic performance, despite coming from a financially disadvantaged family.”
“I don’t remember,” Milton replied, shaking his head.
Raul gave him a sideways glance and said, “That doesn’t surprise me. You’ve always been so arrogant. How could you remember someone like Brooks? Brooks is actually Greyson’s special assistant.”

Milton replied, “So what?”
“Nothing really. I just happen to despise Brooks the most. In fact, we had arguments every time we met. I just couldn’t stand him. Maybe it’s because he has a good relationship with Greyson. I never really liked him in high school. He was too full of himself because of his academic performance. If you had shown up for the exams, Brooks might not have won first place every time. It’s your fault, Milton. How could he be so arrogant?”
The more Raul spoke, the angrier he became.
Glancing at Raul, Milton retorted, “If you despised him, you should have put more effort into your studies.”
Raul was left speechless. Milton had a point.
“Forget it!” Raul muttered, flustered.
Milton then asked, “How did Candice and Greyson meet? Was it because they both graduated from Ploville University?”
“I don’t know,” Raul shrugged. “Maybe their parents knew each other. They both run medicine and biotechnology businesses, after all.”
With one hand holding his chin, Milton let out a heavy breath. His heart ached again as he thought about Candice’s parents passing away, her family going bankrupt, and her being left alone and helpless.
“Damn it! I can’t find out who did it to you behind your back that night,” he said, frustration evident. “You’re a victim too.”
Raul kicked the table in anger since he had no other outlet for his emotions.
“We’ll prove your innocence once we uncover the truth.”
“It doesn’t matter anymore,” Milton replied indifferently.
“Then, what matters to you?” Raul asked in surprise.
“I’ll force her to divorce and marry me,” Milton said as he threw the documents on the table, crossing his slender legs against the desk.
Speechless, Raul stood frozen, unable to find words to respond. For a moment, he wondered if he had misheard, but Milton’s serious expression made it clear that he meant it.
It was clear that he had no regard for the consequences and was willing to go to any lengths to get what he wanted, regardless of the impact on others.
