Chapter 863
Chapter 866:
Finally, Bettina finished speaking. She was so overwhelmed that she fell into Candice’s arms and cried. Bettina had never cried so bitterly before. After telling Candice everything, she finally felt lighter, as if a heavy weight had been lifted.
“You silly girl.” Candice gently stroked Bettina’s back and asked, “Why didn’t you tell me all this earlier? That way, you wouldn’t have been threatened by Bart! Well, I’m not going to blame you. After all, it takes a lot of courage to talk about it. Oh! By the way, I have to tell you something. When I first found out, I was so shocked and excited that it completely slipped my mind to mention it.”
Bettina sniffled and wiped her tearful eyes as she sat back to look at Candice’s face. “What?”
“You remember when I was a sophomore in junior high school, I got locked in the cold storage, and a boy kept me company by singing? That boy wasn’t Greyson, but Milton!” Candice looked into Bettina’s red eyes. “I made a mistake. Milton and Greyson used to live in the same dormitory. I knew Milton was abroad, so I assumed the boy was Greyson. I hadn’t known that Milton had returned to attend a competition that day. So it was him and not Greyson. Oh, Betty! All these years, I was mistaken.”
Bettina couldn’t believe it. Her eyes widened in disbelief. “You’re not saying all this just to make me feel better, right?”
Candice laughed. “How could I? By the way, even if I could, I wouldn’t dare. Betty dear, it’s the truth! This is such a coincidence! Milton was the boy. Betty, I finally found him. I missed him for ten years. I’m not blaming you. So don’t worry. And now, no matter what happens in the future, we’ll face it together. Okay?”
Bettina finally smiled.
“That’s ridiculous. I knew what had happened to you. However, I never would have dreamed it was Milton who sang to you in such a warm and comforting manner. It’s so difficult to imagine him. He’s so cold. Also, he always seems to be in complete control. No wonder you made such a mistake.”
Candice almost laughed out loud when she learned Bettina’s opinion of Milton.
Others didn’t know Milton’s true nature. He was definitely not how Bettina described him.

Bettina asked tentatively, “So, do you like Milton now?”
Candice was stunned. She was a bit embarrassed.
However, she nodded her head in agreement.
Suddenly, she felt something deep in her heart. Candice thought of the blood test, but the results had yet to be confirmed. She was a little flustered but didn’t want Bettina to notice. Candice tried her best to hide it.
“So that’s how it is now.” Relieved, Bettina sighed. “Candy, thank you. I feel so much better now.”
Candice sobered up and said seriously, “Betty, don’t let Bart control you anymore. I will always stand by you. Oh, you haven’t told me yet. How do you feel about Bart now? I haven’t told anyone anything. You know, about all the trouble he has caused. Betty, if you still have feelings for him, I won’t investigate this matter further. I don’t want to make a lot of fuss about it. The most I can do is remind Milton to be cautious.”
“I’ve already gotten over him! I no longer care for him.” Bettina said assertively. “Candy, you must expose him and stop his next move. You don’t have to worry about me.”
