Chapter 174
Chapter 174:
But he was ahead of them.
He was a senior during their second year of junior high. Just before he was about to graduate, the event that would forever change his life happened.
His father, Lamont, had a disastrous year managing the hospital and lost a lot of money. It became imperative to transfer Harmony Hospital to Universe Financial Group.
His grandfather refused to pledge the hospital and instead worked tirelessly to pay off the debt.
But something that happened afterward forced his grandfather to give in.
He was abducted and taken to the mountains in Overshow!
At the time, he was unconscious.
He woke up in the local hospital.
Madilyn, who was accompanying him, was the first person he saw when he opened his eyes.
Madilyn claimed she found him during the abduction and immediately contacted authorities. After the police rescued him, they took him to the hospital right away.
Thus, he believed Madilyn was the one who came to his rescue.
He promised Madilyn he would marry her at that moment because he deeply appreciated her help.
The table lamp cast a soft glow, illuminating the room. Candice’s words were beautiful, powerful, and filled with youthful energy.
Greyson had asked Madilyn that question because he had stumbled upon something in Candice’s diary—a recording of their school trip to Overshow, an ancient city nestled at the foot of the mountains.
In their second year of junior high, the Art Department had organized a sketching field trip there.
That was the very same day he had been kidnapped.
And Candice had been there too.

It had been ten long years since that terrifying incident, but Madilyn had completely forgotten about it, unable to recall a single detail about their time in that small city.
For him, however, the memory was seared into his mind.
Despite his efforts to stay calm, the fear of being kidnapped with his head covered and bound by ropes still haunted him. The memory became a recurring nightmare, causing him to wake up in terror even years later.
He had heard the kidnapper threaten his grandfather over the phone, demanding that Harmony Hospital be pledged.
Greyson was the sole heir of the Harman family, and his grandfather had no choice but to give in.
The next thing he knew, he was knocked out and woke up in a hospital bed.
The shock and relief he felt when he realized Madilyn had saved him were indescribable.
