Chapter 161
Chapter 161:
“In the future, promoting artwork from Royal Garden Corporation will be a top priority. It’s new and challenging to work in an industry where others struggle to make money. But I assure you, with patience, the risk will definitely be worth the reward.”
Listening to his answer, Boden said no more. Yet, even if this was a valid reason, there was still one thing that couldn’t be explained.
Anson raised another question. “Mr. Lopez, we don’t want to interfere in your personal affairs. Nevertheless, you cannot continue this relationship with a married woman. A basic code of ethics must be maintained.
“The group’s stock price has plummeted. Although you temporarily controlled it, the impact of your affair will be permanent from a long-term perspective. The overall stock trend is still downward. It isn’t looking good for us.”
Milton clenched the pen in his hand, his face growing sullen. “The stock’s decline is due to the central bank raising interest rates. Whoever I choose to be with is none of your business.”
Boden, the most daring and frank shareholder, continued, “So you’re saying you’re determined to be with that married woman?” He paused. “Even if it means being served a lawsuit?”
Milton sneered, “So what?”
In response to Milton’s question, Boden scowled. “Mr. Lopez, it seems you have no shame in bringing dishonor upon the company. If that’s the case, we need to nominate a vice president to protect our own interests. We’ve already reached a consensus and held a vote.”
As Boden spoke, he handed Milton the voting agreement.
If all the other directors and shareholders voted in favor, Milton was powerless to stop it.
Milton glanced at the vote agreement and scoffed inwardly. It seemed they had already decided the matter and were just putting on a show for him. It didn’t matter; the position was only vice president. Nothing would change.
The conference room door opened as Anson clapped softly.
A man in a pale gray suit entered.

He wore dark glasses, but his eyes were clear and bright, exuding confidence and calm.
Seeing him, Milton scowled.
It was Bart Glyn!
Milton’s aunt Annot had three sons from her marriage into the Glyn family.
Back then, the Glyn family was a famous tycoon clan in Ploville. Universe Financial Group invested heavily in petrochemicals, medicine, information technology, and fine arts, generating substantial profits.
The downfall of Universe Financial Group coincided with the untimely death of Annot’s husband, Bennie Glyn.
Their oldest son, Alonso Glyn, had been sickly and frail since toddlerhood. He spent most of his time bedridden, contributing little to the family’s business standing.
