“Okay, just set it down,” Candice replied nonchalantly, without lifting her head from the document.
The secretary left politely and closed the door behind her. Candice continued going through the materials. After some time, she took a sip of her coffee and made a face. She didn’t like the taste. It lacked sweetness and had a strong almond flavor.
Suddenly, she remembered a few days ago, after seeing Milton and Sigrid having lunch together at noon, Milton had later asked the receptionist to bring her a cup of coffee.
By chance, she was still at the law firm, so she decided to take the coffee with her.
To her surprise, the taste of the coffee was exactly how she liked it, with hazelnut syrup, condensed cream, and chocolate sauce, but without any almond flavor.
