Chapter 922
Chapter 927:
What course of action should Erica take?
She sat there for a long time, until the glow of the setting sun streamed in through the window, casting reflections on the sofa and adding a touch of loneliness to the empty hall. Suffering from a headache, Erica rubbed her temples vigorously, attempting to alleviate the pain.
Just then, a noise emanated from outside.
“I’m sorry, Miss Olson, but you can’t force your way in.”
At the sound, Erica immediately furrowed her brows, recognizing the arrival of Sigrid.
The butler had finally failed to stop her.
When Sigrid caught sight of Erica, her face flushed with anger, and her long eyebrows shot up.
Courtesy towards her elders was the last thing on Sigrid’s mind at that moment.
Without any regard for decorum, she addressed Erica, her words seething with frustration. “Mrs. Lopez, do you have any idea that Milton plans to get engaged to Candice this Wednesday? Did you agree to it?”
Erica lifted her head to meet Sigrid’s gaze. She knew Sigrid would seek her out, and there was no stopping her.
A sense of helplessness washed over Erica, intensifying her headache. “So what?” Erica asked, her tone tinged with defiance.
To be honest, Erica hadn’t seen Sigrid in years. She recalled the once cute and polite girl from her childhood, but now, Sigrid’s recent behavior had completely shattered that image.
“How could you agree?” Sigrid asked, her voice filled with disbelief. Anger burned in her eyes, intensifying her expression.
“Don’t you realize that Candice’s mother is Corrine? She was the bitch who destroyed your family. It’s absolutely hilarious.” Sigrid kept her gaze fixed on Erica, who showed no sign of surprise on her face. This only deepened Sigrid’s shock, prompting her to question, “How could you have known? Now that you know it, why don’t you put an end to their relationship?”

Erica frowned at the impoliteness of Sigrid’s inquiries. As a junior, it was considered improper to question an elder.
However, Sigrid sneered and persisted, “Erica, they are both such despicable individuals. The mother seduced your husband, and the daughter enticed your son. The entire family has no shame. How can you tolerate it? How can you bear the thought of that woman’s daughter marrying your son? Won’t it make you uncomfortable to see Candice every day in the future? I never expected you to be such a coward!”
“Enough! Stop it!” Erica’s voice rang out sharply, demanding an end to Sigrid’s relentless accusations.
“Why not? Mrs. Lopez, you are the victim here. How could you let the daughter of the person who hurt you enter your family? It’s utterly unreasonable. I simply can’t fathom it,” Sigrid snapped, her frustration palpable.
“This is our family matter. Please don’t interfere,” Erica, her patience wearing thin, responded firmly.
