Chapter 842
Chapter 845:
Her thoughts were a whirlwind of confusion, humiliation, and embarrassment.
Finally gathering herself, Sigrid pleaded, “Milton, have you considered me? When I was at the Royal Garden Corporation, everyone assumed we would marry. You’ve humiliated me like this. How am I supposed to carry on?”
In the end, Sigrid’s pleas took on a desperate tone, tears pooling in her eyes. She was losing all self-respect.
Milton had coldly stripped her of her role as the design director of the Royal Garden Corporation. She was ousted from the company, and Catherine was slated to replace her. The news would quickly spread through the design industry, and her reputation would be tarnished beyond repair.
Milton’s voice was cold and unfeeling. “Your reputation and your life are your problems to handle. Seven years ago, I made it clear that you held no interest for me. Your relentless persistence is on you. I’ll state it once more—our professional relationship is terminated. I don’t want to see you again.”
Finally, he spat out two words through gritted teeth. “Leave now.”
An icy demeanor clung to Milton’s voice. His patience had clearly hit a breaking point.
With a fierce bite on her lower lip, Sigrid dug her nails into her own flesh and declared, “Milton, you’ll regret this day! I’ll make you marry me and regret your words! Just you watch!”
Unable to bear the shame any longer, she bolted from the office, clumsily tripping over the door in her haste.
With a loud crash, she landed face-first on the ground, an unfortunate spectacle. Her skirt had snagged on an ornate detail of the porch, ripping all the way to her thighs.
Sigrid muttered a curse under her breath. What terrible luck! Her mood had plummeted to the depths of despair, yet she still had to endure such humiliation.

She turned around to glare at Milton.
But he didn’t even spare her a glance.
He was by the window, engrossed in a phone call. His voice was low, alluring, and tender. “Where are you now? Returning to the law firm for lunch? Would you like to join me instead?”
“You must wrap up your work by six in the evening. There’s no need for a meeting tonight.”
“Alright, see you then.”
In that moment, fury consumed Sigrid as she stared daggers into Milton’s back. After ruthlessly belittling her, he had the audacity to call Candice. He had never treated her with such gentleness.
Sigrid called Candice a fool inwardly, biting her lip earlier, causing her mouth to fill with blood.
She gritted her teeth, swallowing the blood. Candice would pay for this.
