Chapter 933
Chapter 939:
Stannis and Marcella greeted him with deep reverence upon his arrival.
Milton dismissively waved his hand, signaling for them to leave.
His eyes immediately darted to the figure lying on the bed, carefully tended to and exhibiting signs of vitality. The man’s breaths came steadily, and his countenance bore a healthy, ruddy glow.
Milton’s lips curled into a contemptuous sneer. “Seeing him wasn’t an easy task before, but now we can meet whenever we please.”
Erica felt a tinge of embarrassment, acutely aware of the strained relationship between Milton and his father.
“Regardless, he is your father,” she said, attempting to console him. “Dr. Riley mentioned that your father’s brainwaves have been showing increased activity lately, indicating a gradual return to consciousness. Perhaps, one day, he will awaken.”
Milton furrowed his brow. “More than three years have passed. It’s high time he stirred from his slumber. He left behind a mess for you to handle. How much longer can you bear the burden? If he has any ounce of responsibility as your husband, he should wake up soon.”
“Well, I’m well aware of the situation. If there’s nothing else, let’s go back early.”
With that, Milton turned to leave, only to be halted by Erica.
“Wait. Do you think I invited you here solely to see your father? I have something of utmost importance to show you, something pertaining to your future. I know mere words won’t convince you; no matter what I say. So I wanted you to witness it with your own eyes. Then, and only then, can you make your own decision.”
Milton was taken aback and didn’t comprehend what she was saying.
His surprise prompted him to stop, awaiting further explanation. Erica turned and took out a box crafted from rosewood.

“The servants accidentally toppled this box during their cleaning duties. I had always believed it to be an ornamental piece, unaware that it could be opened.”
The box contained several folded papers and an old mobile phone. “This is your father’s phone, and I charged it. Check the messages. Open the papers and see what’s in them.”
Milton regarded the papers skeptically, his eyes widening as he delved into their contents.
Subsequently, he switched on the phone and meticulously checked the messages one by one.
As he stumbled upon something particularly startling, shock washed over him, contorting his handsome features. At that moment, he even forgot to breathe!
Just then, Axell rang his phone.
In a daze, Milton numbly answered the call.
“Mr. Lopez, the surveillance footage you asked me to recover has been successfully restored overnight. Three years ago, on June 28th, from eleven o’clock in the evening to two o’clock in the morning, a middle-aged woman did indeed enter the Peaky Building. During that specific timeframe, there is a suspicious segment, which I have forwarded to you. Additionally, I’ve sent you the complete video via email. Please review it at your earliest convenience.”
