Chapter 635
Chapter 635:
Before he could continue, Candice interjected, “Hold on, are you relocating? You’re just staying at my place temporarily. You’re a guy. Why are you so meticulous? And my house doesn’t even have room for all these things. Understand?”
For a week-long business trip, she could easily fit her necessities in a small suitcase.
Milton glanced at her. “This is my basic requirement. If it’s inconvenient for you, we can stay at my place.”
Candice was left speechless. She clenched her teeth. The last thing she wanted was to stay at his place. At least in her own house, she had some sense of control.
Milton directed with authority, “Also, bring the contents of the fridge, all the tech stuff, and the project materials I’ve been working on lately. That should cover it. If I think of anything else, I’ll drop you a note.”
“Understood, Mr. Lopez,” Jarrod acknowledged.
With that, Milton returned his focus to the video conference he had been absorbed in.
Meanwhile, Candice glanced at his laptop, and the reality of the situation hit her like a bolt of lightning. He was in the midst of a video call! As he conducted his meeting, he was instructing Jarrod to relocate his belongings to her place. Did his colleagues even realize what was going on? Did they think he was moving in with her?
Candice was left stunned and speechless.
Summoning her courage, she queried, “Who are you speaking with in your meeting? Is it on mute?”
Milton lifted his gaze from the screen, meeting her eyes. “It’s a board meeting. I’m getting updates on the latest developments. What’s the issue? Why should it be muted?”
Candice was taken aback. He was in a board meeting, yet behaving so casually.
Fearful of making any noise, she resorted to mouthing her next words, “Have you lost it? Won’t all the directors think we are going to live together?”

Milton furrowed his brow, replying in bewilderment, “So what? Isn’t our relationship public knowledge?”
Once again, Candice found herself without words. She clutched her head in exasperation before sinking into the car seat. Anger was an understatement for the wave of emotions crashing over her.
The audacity of this man was… indescribable!
He didn’t care about public perception! His actions and words were dictated solely by his own desires!
His domineering attitude left no room for negotiation!
The worst part? She couldn’t get through to him!
In the Blake family villa, Candice was at a loss for words as she observed Jarrod hauling a variety of items into her house. These items ranged from clothing and footwear to timepieces, toiletries, and official paperwork, all belonging to Milton.
“Keep all the items in the guest room on the ground floor. No need to take anything upstairs,” Candice directed, halting Jarrod on the staircase. Her room was on the upper floor, and she was determined to maintain some spatial separation between herself and Milton, at least for the time being.
