Standing by the window, he peered outside and noticed the faint light of dawn breaking through the darkness.
Suddenly, he remembered something important. Taking out his phone, he dialed a number.
“Help me with one thing…”
After being thrown out of Greyson’s apartment, Madilyn walked pitifully along the dark lane. Her clothes were crumpled and torn in places.
She had intended to apologize and seek Greyson’s forgiveness. After all, they had spent over a decade growing up together. She hadn’t expected Greyson to discover that Candice had saved him. Damn it! Candice had kept it a secret for so many years, but now the truth had come out.
To make matters worse, she had planned to pretend to give him her first night, but Greyson had easily seen through her ruse.
She had been careless. What kind of man was Greyson? Astute and sophisticated, trained in medicine—trying to deceive him was like digging her own grave.
Lost and unsure where to go, Madilyn considered returning to the hotel.
With her credit card maxed out, she was broke and unable to afford her usual luxuries. The recent hardships she had faced were all because of Candice, and she couldn’t bear it any longer. Her hatred burned fiercely as she gritted her teeth in frustration.
Suddenly, an unfamiliar sound echoed behind her. Lost in thought, she turned as a minibus pulled up beside her and the door slid open.
Without a chance to resist, Madilyn was forcefully pulled into the minibus. As it sped away, its whistling sound faded into the dark alley.
Fear coursed through her as she trembled, the sight of several men dressed in black inside the vehicle heightening her terror.
“Who are you? What are you going to do?” she asked, clutching her torn clothing and staring at them in fear, painfully aware of her disheveled appearance.

She recalled the times she had pretended to be kidnapped and nearly raped by people hired by Candice. That had been fake, but this time, it was all too real. A wave of terror washed over her, and her legs went weak.
One of the men in black stared at her with malice and said, “I’ve heard how much you enjoy this kind of drama. Someone wanted us to provide you with some entertainment.”
Madilyn screamed, but before she could utter a sound, her mouth was forcefully covered with black tape.
The minibus raced through desolate wilderness, carrying Madilyn far away from civilization.
Time seemed to stretch endlessly until the first light of daybreak appeared.
Lying on the grass, Madilyn lay motionless, her eyes vacant, tears nearly dried up. It was hard for her to comprehend the horrific events that had just unfolded.
A subtle signal passed between two of the men in black, and one winked.
The man gave a confirming nod and pulled out a syringe. He injected an unknown substance into Madilyn’s vein, using the flicker of a lighter to aid his task.
