Just then, a stewardess approached Candice and said, “I apologize, miss. We’ve just received a notice from the ground crew. There seems to be an issue with ticket sales today. Your seat has been sold before you, and someone else is already occupying it.”
“It has been sold?” Candice was taken aback. She had heard of this situation before but had never experienced it herself. In other words, she had purchased a ticket for a seat that didn’t actually exist. Would they have to remove her from the plane?
“Yes. I’m sorry,” the stewardess quickly said. “To make it up to you, we are offering a complimentary upgrade to first class. Please take a seat at the front. Thank you for your understanding.”
Candice felt a bit confused. A free upgrade? What a coincidence?
At that moment, a middle-aged woman approached, clutching her boarding pass and scanning the seat where Candice was seated. “Is this my seat, 55E?”
Though Candice was suspicious, she reluctantly stood up and relinquished her seat. She followed the stewardess towards the front of the plane.
She took her seat in the first-class section, which had been arranged for her by the airline attendant. Candice noticed that the entire section was deserted. She found herself alone in first class, with the stewardess closing the curtains around her, creating a cozy and secluded space.
It was quite peculiar. Had no one purchased a first-class ticket? Was it completely empty?
Truth be told, Candice could afford first class, but she believed it was unnecessary to splurge for such a short flight. The journey would take just over an hour, during which she could enjoy a good book. In the future, if she took over the Blake Group, money would be needed, so she had to save up now.
She sat there for a while, but as the time for takeoff approached, she noticed that the cabin door remained open.
The announcement explained that the plane was experiencing a delay due to airline control.

Ten minutes later, the stewardess swiftly approached and pulled open the curtain in front of Candice. Two stewardesses then positioned themselves on either side, ready to welcome a VIP.
Candice looked up and caught sight of Milton, dressed in a navy blue suit and sporting a pair of sunglasses, striding in confidently.
“Mr. Lopez, this way, please,” the airline stewardesses respectfully called out to him.
In the presence of their boss, it was only natural for the stewardesses to present their best appearance and performance.
After briefly glancing at Candice, Milton headed directly towards the seat next to her and took a seat.
