Chapter 833
Chapter 836:
Sigrid’s anger only grew. The Olson family was a tangled web of complexity. Their father had been married four times, with countless mistresses in tow. Legitimate and illegitimate children openly and secretly vied for power and supremacy. Though Elmo and Sigrid did not share the same mother, their bond remained strong.
Elmo cast a cold glance at Sigrid and said, “If you wish to wed into the Lopez family, you should win a man’s heart through your own merits, rather than making life difficult for others here. Look at yourself now. You bear no resemblance to a nobleman’s daughter. What sets you apart from a woman from a humble village? If I were Milton, I wouldn’t be drawn to you either!”
“Elmo! How can you say such things to me?” Sigrid’s voice trembled with resentment. “What are you doing in Ploville? Why are you here?”
Elmo replied icily, “What? Do you wish to meddle in my affairs?”
Sigrid swept her sleeves aside and turned away. “I have no time to concern myself with your affairs. I’m going to find Milton now.”
With those words, Sigrid stormed off, heading for the main building of the Royal Garden Corporation. In truth, she had specifically come to see Milton this time. Her previous design had been rejected, and she had toiled day and night to complete a new one. Finally, just yesterday, she had succeeded in crafting a piece of work she was truly satisfied with. She now longed for Milton’s recognition.
But upon arriving at the Royal Garden Corporation, she learned that Milton had gifted a Lamborghini sports car to Candice. Furthermore, he had been residing in Candice’s abode since his injury, rendering Sigrid unable to visit him. The pent-up resentment within her could no longer be contained, and she impulsively sought out Candice.
As Sigrid departed in a furious haze, Elmo found himself helplessly rubbing his temples. In the Olson family, Sigrid always garnered their father’s trust through caution and restraint. Elmo hadn’t witnessed her lose control like this in years.

Candice, on the other hand, remained composed and level-headed. The fact that she could stir such a reaction in Sigrid spoke volumes about her character. And she was the woman Milton had chosen. She was a lawyer who once got a divorce. How intriguing! Prior to his arrival in Ploville, Elmo had heard rumors about Candice. Seeing her in person, he realized she was indeed no ordinary woman.
If Sigrid could secure a marriage into the esteemed Lopez family, Elmo stood to gain much.
As for this woman called Candice, Elmo knew he had to find an opportunity to get to know her.
Sigrid approached the door of Milton’s office, but Blair intercepted her and requested, “Miss Olson, kindly wait for a moment. Mr. Lopez is currently discussing collaboration inside. Please allow him to conclude the negotiation before you enter. I will inform him of your presence before you proceed.”
Despite her impatience, Sigrid had no choice but to remain outside. Yet she found this puzzling. She had already confirmed Milton’s schedule with his personal assistant. He was supposed to be free this morning. That was why she decided to visit now. Seeing Milton was a challenging task for her. She hesitated to approach him casually, afraid that it might provoke his displeasure. On top of that, Milton was busy. If she tried to follow the company’s procedure to arrange a meeting, when would her turn finally come? Sigrid grew tired of constantly relying on Erica to accompany her when meeting Milton. Moreover, this approach prevented her from having any private interaction with Milton.
