Chapter 605
Chapter 605:
He raised his elbow, aiming to deliver a fatal blow to Corless.
Candice’s eyes grew wide as she watched Milton hitting Corless. But Milton’s furious expression suggested he wasn’t satisfied with just teaching Corless a lesson. He seemed like he wanted to do something worse.
Committing intentional injury and intentional homicide are both classified as felonies. Although Corless deserved punishment, he must face the law. Milton could not break the law for a scumbag like him.
Quickly, she rushed to stop Milton and held his arm, pleading, “Please stop.”
But Milton’s eyes had turned red with anger, and he hit Corless with his elbow, causing him to spit out blood.
Candice knew she had to intervene again when she saw Milton about to hit Corless again. She hugged him from behind, pressing her chest against his back.
“I’m fine. Don’t hit him! Don’t beat him to death. Beating someone to death is illegal and not worth the consequences. Please, calm down.”
She held him tightly, feeling his hot body and violent heartbeat. As Candice pleaded with him, Milton began to calm down.
As she held onto him, he felt her physical presence and was able to regain control of his emotions, eventually stopping his actions.
Corless quickly got to his feet and fled as fast as he could.
The situation was frightening. Just moments ago, Milton was completely consumed by anger and seemed intent on killing Corless on the spot.
He didn’t want to die! Corless hastily ran away and vanished in the blink of an eye.
Once he had regained control of himself, Milton held Candice’s hand tightly, though he knew that his own hand was still trembling.
This was a lingering fear.
He was afraid that if he had been a little late, something terrible would have happened.

Corless was a monstrous individual who deserved to die a hundred times over, and Milton felt an intense urge to kill him in that moment.
Suddenly, he turned to Candice and pulled her in front of him, shouting, “Candice! How dare you!”
She winced at the volume of his voice, feeling her eardrums throb.
Milton questioned her angrily. “What were you thinking? Didn’t you know how dangerous it was to come to Corless’s place alone? How could you disappear like that? Why didn’t you answer my phone? How dare you ignore my messages? Do you have a death wish?”
Candice kept her head down as she said softly, “I didn’t ignore your messages. I sent you my location.”
Milton grew even angrier when Candice tried to defend herself.
“You sent me your location? How was I supposed to stop him in time if I came here after you sent me the location? Luckily, I sent someone to find out where Corless’s case happened and rushed here. I was almost here when you sent the location!”
