Chapter 719
Chapter 719:
In response, he immediately dialed Jarrod’s number.
“What’s going on? Why isn’t Candice at home tonight?”
Jarrod explained, “Mr. Lopez, the Hope Law Firm organized a dinner party tonight, and everyone’s attendance was expected. Miss Blake planned on catching a ride with Miss Reeves, who would later drop her off. There was no need for me to fetch her. She claimed to have informed you.”
“Alright.” After he ended the call, Milton’s emotions were on a rollercoaster ride.
Damn it! She hadn’t given him a single hint about her plans. How dare she?
He parked his car in the driveway, stepping into the house and tossing his luggage into the living room. He had been away for a week, and the house felt abandoned, everything perfectly in place as though untouched. Instant noodle wrappers in the trash can were a testament to her carelessness.
She hadn’t paid heed to his advice at all.
Anger surged within him, and he reached for his phone, ready to dial her number.
Just as he was about to initiate the call, his phone screen suddenly lit up.
“Honey.” The word danced on the screen.
She was the one calling him this time. Had she remembered to update him about her plans?
His anger subsided, replaced with relief. He tapped on the answer button.
Candice’s voice, clear and melodious, resonated through the phone.
There was a different note to her voice tonight, a tremor interspersed with a lingering deep tone, a pitch slightly higher than her usual one.
“Mr. Lopez!” She yelled into the phone.
Hearing her address him formally once again didn’t sit well with him. A frown creased his forehead.
Swiftly changing the subject, she declared, “You! Milton Lopez! Listen up! No, let me correct myself. I’m informing you!” She changed her address, and her tone held no bounds.

Eagerly awaiting her response, Milton yearned to hear her next words, anticipating the inquiry. “Oh, what news do you have to share with me?”
“Well, tonight, I’m going to toss all of your belongings out of my house! I need you to vacate my premises!” Candice voiced out vehemently over the phone. “I’m severing all ties with you, Milton Lopez! The days of you sharing my bed are gone!”
Her final words came out as a roar, thundering into the phone receiver.
The intensity of her voice was akin to a sonic blast, compelling Milton to distance the phone from his ears.
Once she had ended her tirade, he found himself at a loss for words. He finally managed to utter in a frigid tone, “Are you drunk?”
Candice had always been a picture of restraint, making it highly unlikely for her to make such utterances unless she had had a few drinks.
The other end of the line was engulfed in silence. It seemed like Milton’s suspicion was correct. Candice had been drinking.
Milton’s voice was laced with ire as he demanded, “Where are you? Tell me your location!”
