Chapter 816
Chapter 819:
Bettina stumbled awkwardly, “I can’t offer you any assistance. I’m sorry to witness your suffering.”
Candice shook her head, wearing a smile. “Don’t worry. I’ll manage. Problems are meant to be solved; there are no easy paths. Besides, we are lawyers. It’s our job to resolve issues, isn’t it?”
Bettina mustered a forced smile and replied, “Go ahead. I noticed Greyson brought some documents here. I’m unsure of their nature. He must be seeking you out for business matters.”
Candice raised an eyebrow and responded, “Okay.”
With that, she turned and began walking towards her office.
“Wait!” Bettina suddenly grasped her arm once again.
“What’s wrong?” Confused, Candice turned back and asked, “Betty, what else do you want to say to me?”
Bettina hesitated, biting her lip, before finally speaking. “Originally, I didn’t intend to tell you, fearing it would burden you. But upon further reflection, I believe I shouldn’t hide it from you.”
Taking a deep breath, Bettina continued, “Greyson asked me to convey a message to you. I believe I should tell you.”
Candice raised her eyebrows and inquired, “What is it?”
Bettina let out a sigh and replied, “He said he wouldn’t give up, regardless of how long it takes. Whether it’s one or two years, or even ten years, he will make it up to you. You waited for him for ten years, and now he intends to repay that time.”
Deliberately avoiding some words, Bettina cautiously relayed Greyson’s sentiments.
Upon hearing this, Candice was left dumbfounded.

Did Greyson truly plan to make amends for ten years? It seemed preposterous.
Bettina looked at her, feeling helpless.
“I see,” said Candice, her brows furrowing slightly.
She gently patted Bettina’s shoulder and added, “I’m going back to my office. You can proceed with your work.”
With purpose in her stride, Candice made her way directly to her office.
As she turned the doorknob and pushed the door open, an unexpected sight greeted her—Greyson sitting on the sofa, accompanied by a vibrant bouquet of flowers placed before him.
The alluring hues of purple and pink captivated her attention as she cast a glance at the blossoms.
Lavender, pink grass, and irises adorned the arrangement, their delicate beauty on full display. Coincidentally, Candice possessed knowledge of the language of those flowers. It was obvious that he tried to convey a heartfelt message with the flowers: no matter what happened, he was always there waiting for her to come back.
