Chapter 120
Chapter 120:
He didn’t respond immediately. After a moment, he said, “All this happened before we signed the agreement. I have no reason to get rid of her. Drop it.”
“How is Madilyn? What’s wrong with her exactly?” he changed the subject.
“Oh, she’s in her room. Because of heart palpitations, she can’t get out of bed,” Rachel replied quickly, placing all her faith in…
Madilyn now. Madilyn’s marriage to Greyson was the only way Rachel could finally secure her position within the Harman family.
Without a word, Greyson pulled several bottles of medicine from a cabinet and proceeded to Madilyn’s room.
He pushed the door open.
Madilyn lay quietly on the bed, her eyes closed. Her face was pale.
Hearing the noise, she opened her eyes and greeted, “You’re back, Rey.”
Her voice was hoarse, and her eyes were red and puffy—she had obviously been crying for a while.
Greyson walked over and deftly opened a package of single-use infusion needles.
“Give me your hand.”
Madilyn extended her hand obediently.
Greyson examined her hand, searching for veins and arteries. Her vessels were almost invisible. He gently inserted the thinnest needle and secured it.
“Your hypoglycemia is very serious. Please stop ballet. I understand you have to diet to dance, but this isn’t good for you. You’ll get heart palpitations, feel lightheaded, and may pass out. Keep this up, and you’ll get really sick. Anorexia is a possible consequence.”
Greyson gave her a stern look and spoke the warning slowly.
Madilyn gazed up at him sorrowfully. “Would you look after me forever if I never danced again?”
Greyson fell silent.
He held his hands behind his back, unable to stop clenching them.
Tears began to well up in Madilyn’s eyes.
Without warning, she grabbed his hand.
His touch was as cold as ice.
“Forget waiting a year, Rey. Now that Candice’s betrayal is out in the open, I can’t stand waiting any longer. Are you ready to marry me now? Don’t say no!”
Her expression was one of sincerity and expectancy. She was certain that he would feel pity for her if this had happened in the past.
She wanted to avoid any more delay. The longer she waited, the higher the risk became. She was concerned he might change his mind one day. In fact, she could already see that he had changed in recent times.
Additionally, she was afraid that one day he might find out about her past transgressions.
In any case, she planned to give him a little nudge!
