The shiny knife glinted under the moonlight as he lunged toward Milton from behind.
Candice gasped in horror.
Milton reacted with lightning-fast reflexes, dodging the blade and grabbing the thug’s arm in a smooth backhand move. With a sharp twist, he snapped the man’s wrist, causing a piercing scream as the knife clattered to the floor. Milton didn’t stop there. He followed with a swift knee to the thug’s stomach and finished with a brutal elbow strike to his back.
It was quick, ruthless, and precise.
“Ahhh!” The bald man’s screams echoed as he writhed in agony on the floor, unable to catch his breath or stand.
Candice was in shock. Milton’s brutal efficiency surprised her. He had wisely targeted the gang leader first to intimidate the others. Now she understood why he had kept nagging her despite the danger.
She recalled the other day when hooligans had ambushed her. Milton hadn’t fought them directly but simply let her get on the motorcycle. It was clear he could defend himself but chose not to engage then.
Despite Milton’s skill, more than a dozen thugs remained. Some wielded knives, others sticks. The odds were not in their favor.
The bald man, still writhing in pain, cried out, “What are you waiting for? Go get him!” His wrist was dislocated, but he was determined to save face.
At his command, the others grabbed their weapons and charged.
A couple of thugs surrounded Candice. Though skilled in Taekwondo, she had to be cautious because of their weapons. She dodged their attacks swiftly and seized the chance to deliver a powerful kick to one thug’s knee.
Amid the fight, she couldn’t spare any attention for Milton, who was fighting beside her.
On the other hand, more men surrounded Milton, but he was ready. Rolling up his sleeves, he threw a series of punches, taking down the hooligans one by one.
Milton watched Candice carefully as they fought.
