Chapter 594
Chapter 594:
They soon arrived in Wenkin.
Upon landing, the first-class passengers disembarked first. Just then, a stewardess pulled back the curtain, cleared her throat, and respectfully said, “Mr. Lopez, please get off the plane.”
Milton stood up and helped Candice up as well.
As they passed by the stewardesses and the other crew members, Candice sensed their peculiar glances towards her.
They wanted to look at her closely but refrained from doing so publicly.
Their disdainful and envious looks embarrassed her. They must have assumed she and Milton had just engaged in sexual activity.
She instinctively touched her collar.
Was there a mark on her neck? Why were they staring at her like that?
She suddenly realized that by doing so, they might misinterpret it as an attempt to hide something. Eventually, she got off the plane, feeling ashamed. In the arrival hall, Milton dialed a number on his phone and made a call.
“Please reserve a presidential suite on the top floor of the Vital Hotel in Wenkin for me. Ensure no one else stays on the top floor. Send me the room number once it’s done.” Then he ended the call.
He turned to Candice, saying, “The car that will pick us up has arrived. It is waiting at Gate No. 2. Let’s go there now.”
Candice followed Milton, still in disbelief after overhearing his call to book a room.
She was shocked. Did he only reserve one room?
Did he expect her to sleep with him?
Witnessing him embrace and kiss Sigrid earlier in the day left her feeling sad and despondent.
He already had Sigrid, so why did he still pester her?
Did he believe he had a natural claim over both of them? No, she wouldn’t allow herself to keep falling in love with him.
She abruptly halted and said, “I need to use the restroom. You can go ahead and wait for me in the car.”
Without hesitation, Milton replied, “Sure.”
When Milton arrived at Gate No. 2, a sleek, elongated Lincoln car was waiting for him.
It was a vehicle owned by the Royal Garden Corporation’s branch in Wenkin, sent at Milton’s request.
The driver respectfully opened the door for him. As Milton entered the car, he watched Candice walk towards the restroom, disappearing from sight.
Twenty minutes passed, and Candice still hadn’t returned.
A sense of unease crept over him. He quickly exited the car and rushed into the bustling hall, scanning the area for any sign of Candice.
But she was nowhere to be found.
Frustration mounting, Milton approached a cleaner, offering a tip in exchange for searching the restroom. But when the cleaner returned, Candice was still missing.
