Judge Fletcher announced, “Very well. According to the law, I hereby dismiss this case per the plaintiff’s request. We will issue an official dismissal later. Court is adjourned.”
After saying that, Judge Fletcher signaled to the two jurors to leave with him.
Before leaving, he nodded slightly to Milton. Although he couldn’t help the young Mr. Lopez, Judge Fletcher felt lucky to have avoided being caught in the crossfire between Candice and Milton. The wisest course of action was to leave as soon as possible.
