Chapter 482
Chapter 482:
“Well, I find it hard to believe it’s just a coincidence. Everyone knows the Olson family and Mrs. Lopez’s family have maintained a long-standing friendship. Sigrid’s mother and Mrs. Lopez have been close since their youth. I’m sure Sigrid came here to see Mr. Lopez. Do the two families intend to join forces through marriage?”
“Shh, lower your voice. Can’t you see Candice is still here? Don’t let her hear you.”
“What are you worried about? She’s just a lawyer. Her family background doesn’t compare to Sigrid’s.”
“Exactly. Besides, it seems Mr. Lopez has lost interest in her. What’s the big deal?”
“Look at her usual cold face. I’ve never liked her.”
Candice heard every word clearly and forced an awkward smile. Did they purposely say those things in front of her? What was the point of pretending?
In the office, Sigrid chuckled and told Milton, “I have something else to attend to today. I’m leaving now.”
When Blair opened the door, Milton had already caught sight of Candice.
As she stood by the entrance, her expression was void of emotion, distant and cold. They hadn’t seen each other for a few days, and she didn’t look as radiant as before. Her complexion was rather pale.
As Sigrid spoke, Milton found himself inattentive.
It wasn’t until he heard Sigrid announce her departure that he snapped back to reality. “Alright then, goodbye.”
Sigrid picked up the mocha coffee she had brought from the desk and headed toward the door. As her gaze fell on Candice, she was momentarily stunned, her almond-shaped eyes sparkling.
Of course, Sigrid recognized her.
Candice surpassed her expectations with her striking beauty. Not only was she naturally beautiful, but she also refrained from wearing any makeup. Her exquisite countenance, aloof demeanor, luminous eyes, and radiant smile made her resemble a timeless beauty straight out of a masterpiece.

Studying Candice closely, Sigrid noticed her frailty, which only served to evoke more sympathy from men.
“Seductress,” Sigrid sneered. No wonder Milton was enthralled by Candice.
With her head held high, Sigrid confidently strode toward Candice.
It was at that moment that Candice entered, clutching a document in her hand.
The two were on the brink of crossing paths when suddenly the coffee in Sigrid’s hand was about to spill onto Candice.
Frowning, Candice realized it was too late to dodge and ended up colliding with Sigrid. She had thought the coffee would spill on her.
But to her surprise, she only heard Sigrid let out a piercing scream.
The black coffee spilled onto Sigrid’s clothes.
Candice’s gaze narrowed as she glared at Sigrid.
Sigrid had done that deliberately!
Today, Sigrid wore a lavender cotton dress, which instantly absorbed all the coffee spilled on her. The resulting stain stood out conspicuously.
