The high-end cocktail party of the General Chamber of Commerce in Ploville was held at the Gold Well Hotel. The hotel resembled a spectacular palace, adorned with luxurious crystal lamps in every corner.
The guest list for the night was composed mainly of business elites.
This was Candice’s first time attending such an event. She was Greyson’s plus-one for the evening.
Dressed in a pinkish gown, Candice shone like a goddess under the dazzling lights. Her slender figure and flawless appearance were simply enchanting.

“How impressive. I had no idea that you and your wife were so young and accomplished,” Dr. Wilson exclaimed. He placed a hand on Greyson’s shoulder and added, “You have excellent taste. I’ve always heard that those who study medicine and law make a formidable team. Their ways of thinking often align.”
Greyson beamed and greeted Mrs. Wilson with a polite nod.
“And may I ask, is Mrs. Wilson also a lawyer?” he inquired with interest.
“That’s right,” Dr. Wilson chuckled.
“Looks like we have more in common than we thought. Not only do we have similar tastes in women, but we might also share the same views on investment opportunities,” Dr. Wilson continued, grinning.
Candice couldn’t help but roll her eyes at the men’s conversation.
Similar tastes? Really? She found the situation comical and a little absurd.
Greyson noticed Candice’s expression and felt a pang of embarrassment.
Instinctively, he tightened his arm around hers, fearing she might pull away.

Candice was shocked by his response.
Why would he say Madilyn was his sister when she was actually his cousin, even if they weren’t related by blood?
