Chapter 301
Chapter 301:
Milton didn’t eat much, only nibbling on some beef and vegetables. It seemed he was carefully monitoring his calorie intake at night.
However, he made sure Candice ate plenty, stuffing her with an abundance of food.
After the meal, Candice felt quite full. She had been starving before they started eating.
Once they finished, she cleaned up the table and sat on the sofa. She then picked up the documents Milton had brought and began reading attentively. Milton took a seat nearby.
Noticing Candice seemed exhausted, he asked, “Are you tired?”
Candice replied without looking up, “Yeah. The hearing went on a long time this afternoon, but I managed to win the lawsuit.”

“How could that be?” Milton’s eyebrows furrowed. “I majored in the language in high school, got an A, and even won a writing prize.”

Suddenly, Milton took the documents away.

Candice grabbed the documents back and retorted, “I’m fine. Let’s just work on this until it’s done.”
She pointed at the signature date on a document and continued, “The defense must be submitted tomorrow. Is this also a case your mother is involved in?”
Milton nodded. “Yes. She owns numerous properties and companies—so many that she can’t keep track of all of them sometimes. She’s dealing with disputes that can’t be known to the Royal Garden Corporation. I want to help her by finding a good lawyer.”
“I see,” Candice muttered.
Erica must come from a wealthy, powerful family; otherwise, she wouldn’t own so many properties and companies. Candice was about to continue reading the documents when Milton suddenly held her wrist and said,
