“I’m alright, Aunt Rachel.”
Madilyn, sitting up in bed, asked, “Did Greyson say anything to you?”
“He asked me for the photos and negatives because he thought I was the one who released the pictures of Candice,” Rachel said, her voice filled with anger.
“Did you give them to him?” Madilyn sat up straight.
“Did I have a choice? Since the issue has been exposed, keeping the photos is pointless. But the fact that he suspected me has really pissed me off. How could I have photos of Candice with another guy from Wilmint High School? Damn it!”
Madilyn felt relieved that Greyson didn’t suspect her.
Rachel looked at Madilyn suspiciously. “Did you do it?”
Instead of meeting her gaze, Madilyn quickly looked away and asked, “How could I have? Keep your voice down. Don’t let him hear you.”
“Then who could it have been?” Rachel was stumped. “What if we just tell the media that Candice is expecting? What do you think?”
Madilyn responded sharply, “No. Don’t act on impulse!
I’m sure I can come up with something more efficient. If word gets out and Greyson wants the kid, it’s game over for us!”
Rachel agreed that it was a reasonable approach.
If the baby in Candice was indeed Greyson’s, they couldn’t let it be born.
Madilyn’s jaws clenched with hatred. They couldn’t let Candice have anything, so she had to push Candice into having an abortion.
Why was Candice always so lucky?
“Okay, we’ll do it your way,” Rachel nodded.
“By the way, Auntie, Greyson asked me not to dance anymore. He said it wasn’t good for my health to keep dieting,” Madilyn said.
