Chapter 994
Chapter 1001:
A playful and incredulous expression crossed his face.
Was she asking him to choose between wealth and beauty? It was indeed an intriguing question.
Candice’s inquisitive gaze bore into Elmo as she repeated her question. “Have you made your decision?”
Elmo responded with a mischievous chuckle, “I want you and the Olson family’s property!”
A trace of disdain played on Candice’s lips. “I’m sorry, but cooperation seems unlikely if that’s your stance.”
She gently pushed Elmo away, a hint of frustration in her movements, signaling her intention to leave.
“Wait!” Elmo interjected, blocking her path. “As you’ve pointed out, I’m not considered a legitimate heir. What can you offer to change the Olson family’s inheritance rules? Share your plan with me, and I’ll consider cooperating.”
Candice fixed him with a sharp, calculating gaze.
“Why endeavor to alter the inheritance rules when you could simply change your approach?”
Elmo’s brows knitted in confusion. Her meaning eluded him.
Candice’s smile held a touch of wisdom. “You undoubtedly possess businesses beyond the Olson family’s holdings. So why pursue inheritance as a means to get the shares? Since they all think you are not qualified to inherit it, why don’t you buy them off slowly yourself? With total ownership, you’d effectively control the Olson family. The outcome would be the same.”
Elmo was taken aback; he had never contemplated this alternative. “But the Olson family’s assets are vast, with numerous subsidiaries. It’s no simple feat to acquire and consolidate them.”
𝑻𝑹𝑼𝑬 𝑭𝑰𝑳𝑬: 𝒈⋅𝒂𝒍⋅𝒏⋅𝒐𝒗⋅𝒆𝒍⋅𝒔⋅𝒄𝒐⋅𝒎
Candice shrugged nonchalantly.
“Indeed, it won’t be easy. It could take years. The Olson family is deeply involved in worldwide art auctions, and some individuals have laundered money through their connections. They can’t afford to be exposed, nor can their financial records. If you aim to bring them down, you have ample ammunition. As the Olson family teeters on the precipice, you could be their salvation. It will be your golden opportunity, should you decide to seize it. Of course, it’s merely a suggestion. If you’re resolved, provide me insider information on the Olson family and its subsidiaries.”
As she spoke, Candice retrieved a piece of paper from her handbag, hastily jotting down an email address and handing it to Elmo. “Contact me when you’re ready.”
Then, without another glance, she departed, leaving Elmo to ponder her proposal. He watched her retreating figure round the corner before returning to the note she had given him.
The idea was intriguing, and it presented a challenging prospect. What was more, fulfilling her request wasn’t an arduous task, and it wouldn’t require him to interfere with the impending union of Sigrid and Milton.
