Chapter 743
Chapter 743:
Pulling up to the hospital, she felt a surge of triumph. She had beaten her post-traumatic stress disorder and pushed her willpower past its known limits.
The medical team rushed over to her, a blur of concerned faces. “What happened?”
“There was a car crash. He’s hurt, bleeding. Quick, help him!” Candice leaned on one of the doctors for support. She was so weak that she struggled to stand firm, almost losing her balance several times.
The doctor promptly directed the medical team to assist in getting Milton out of the car, administering oxygen, and swiftly transporting him to the emergency room.
Once they were gone, she turned to a nurse and asked, “Could I use your phone, please? I need to call the police.”
“Of course,” the nurse replied, offering her the device. “But you should also get some medical attention. You’re injured.”
“Thanks, but I’m okay,” Candice responded, dismissing the offer with a wave of her hand.
With a sense of urgency, she dialed the police and exclaimed, “A car crash just happened on the circuit road of…”
Providing the precise whereabouts, Candice informed the police that she had personally driven one of the vehicles to Harmony Hospital, while the injured party was currently undergoing rescue efforts. The fate of the driver responsible for the accident remained uncertain, with their current condition and status unknown. She also informed them of a prior attack and the apprehension of an unconscious gangster.
Once she had given all the information, Candice’s strength gave out, and she crumpled to the ground, unconscious.
As dawn broke, Candice awoke from her slumber.
With clouds hiding the sun, the ambiance of melancholy permeated the room, dragging her spirits down.
She found herself lying on a bed adorned with white pillows, surrounded by a room featuring a white ceiling and draped with white curtains.

An IV drip was connected to her, and the steady flow of medicinal fluid created a suspended moment, as if time itself had come to a standstill for Candice. In that instant, her mind became a blank slate; she was devoid of thoughts or emotions.
Once the haze lifted, the events that happened earlier that day came rushing back to her: a car accident, Milton being injured, a frenzied drive to the hospital, and the call to the police.
Had she passed out after that?
That was impossible!
With a sudden jolt, Candice sat upright. Panic consumed her as she thought of Milton. Without thinking, she pulled out the IV line and swung her legs over the side of the bed, ready to rise.
Just then, Greyson stepped into the room. Seeing Candice’s distracted state and her attempt to leave, he swiftly moved to her side, steadying her shaky shoulder with his hand.
