Chapter 773
Chapter 773:
“What exactly would you like to know?”
“Nothing. Just asking.” Candice smiled sheepishly. Perhaps Milton was a little too knowledgeable.
“Are you so curious about me?” Milton quipped, a playful glimmer in his eyes. “What else would you like to know? I’m an open book.”
“Oh, no,” Candice quickly replied, attempting to regain her composure. She felt that what Milton said was somewhat strange.
“How are you feeling now?” Milton pointed to her head and asked, “Do you experience any discomfort? Dizziness, perhaps?”
Candice shook her head and reassured him, “No, I’m perfectly fine. I was planning to…”
Candice intended to inform him that she had fully recovered and would resume her work at the law office the following day.
Unexpectedly, Milton interrupted her abruptly.
“Now that you’re fully healed, would you mind assisting me with a shower? Right now, if possible.”
Candice was taken aback by his request. Her grip loosened, and the phone slipped from her hand, landing on the table with a faint click. She wondered if she had misunderstood him. If she had known, she would have claimed she hadn’t fully recovered yet!
Milton got up and moved from the table to the comfort of the couch. He then engaged his phone, flicking through an email as he instructed, “Prepare the bath for me. I have an urge to soak a bit.” Candice, flustered, was momentarily silenced.
Once her shock abated, she queried, “Can’t you manage your own bath? I mean…”

Milton glanced at her with a smirk, a flicker of amusement in his eyes. “Well, what’s your guess? Hurry up. I haven’t had a bath in more than twenty-four hours. It’s just intolerable!” Candice was left without a response.
However, she wasn’t too surprised. Milton was notorious for his cleanliness, often indulging in twice-daily showers. He would typically freshen up upon awakening and then again before slipping into bed. So, his claim of enduring a day and night without a shower was slightly dramatized. Just the previous night, she had caught a whiff of his customary shower fragrance in the cold storage. She suspected he had somehow managed to take a quick shower before disembarking from his private jet. Thus, he had merely skipped his morning shower. She found his complaint somewhat exaggerated.
Rather than engaging in a futile debate, Candice resigned herself to the task at hand and moved towards the bathroom.
“Why did you dismiss the round-the-clock caretaker in the first place?” she grumbled softly.
Milton, some distance away, didn’t catch her mumble. “Did you say something?” he inquired. “Nothing.”
