Chapter 815
Chapter 818:
“Well, it’s great that Mr. Lopez is alright. But why the pissed expression? Are you hoping for a serious injury?” Bettina nudged Candice.
Candice pondered Bettina’s remark and decided not to argue. Despite Milton pretending to have a fracture and coaxing her to satisfy him, she still didn’t want him to suffer. She chose not to take it too seriously.
“What’s with the Lamborghini? Did Mr. Lopez gift it to you?” Bettina couldn’t help but gossip. “I peeked into the garage. Cool concept car! I’m totally jealous.”
With a somber expression, Candice replied, “Well, since you like it so much, I’ll give it to you.”
Bettina immediately shook her head and said, “No way! It’s way too expensive. I can’t take it.”
After a brief pause, she added, “But that’s not what I wanted to ask. The real question is, can you drive now? How’s your PTSD recovery?” Bettina was more concerned about the trauma that had haunted Candice for such a long time.
“Yes, it’s hard to believe, even for me. When the car accident happened, I managed to drive to Harmony Hospital. I thought it was just because of the emergency situation. But surprisingly, I don’t feel bothered by it anymore. Yesterday, I went for a driving practice and it felt great—no discomfort or shortness of breath,” Candice explained. It was truly miraculous to her that her PTSD, which had plagued her for over three years, had suddenly vanished.
Suddenly, she remembered what Wendell had told her during her time at the psychological counseling center.
“It’s difficult to cure PTSD. Such disorders take a long time to heal. Now we’ve found that there is light in your life. You have someone who can give you the warmth you need to heal. You should get closer to him, trust him, and depend on him.”
Back then, Candice had been stubborn and unwilling to admit it.

But the truth was, Milton had indeed warmed her heart, both ten years ago and in the present. Perhaps he really had cured her.
Bettina sighed. “Well, regardless, I’m genuinely happy that you’ve overcome your PTSD. Oh, by the way, Greyson is in your office. He’s been waiting for you for almost an hour. You better go see what he wants.”
Upon hearing that, Candice was taken aback.
What on earth was Greyson doing here?
Candice furrowed her brows, visibly troubled.
Bettina, too, couldn’t help but feel a headache coming on. Now that Candice was caught between two men, she was bound to face a difficult time.
However, Bettina couldn’t help her. Moreover, she was responsible for all this.
Gently, she placed a hand on Candice’s shoulder and uttered, “I’m sorry.”
Perplexed, Candice looked at her and asked, “Why are you apologizing?”
