Chapter 1009
Chapter 1018:
It had been her usual modus operandi to lead while with Raul, but now, she sensed an unexpected change in the dynamics between them.
“Why are you asking me all of this? I only wanted to discuss moving back…” she began but found herself interrupted.
Bettina’s eyes abruptly widened. He kissed her to hush her. He leaned forward, put his hands on the back of her head, and drew her in for a kiss.
His lips met hers with expertise, a blend of ardor and refinement that left her spellbound.
In the midst of this French kiss, Bettina closed her eyes and was taken to a realm of blissful indulgence.
It marked their first kiss!
When their lips finally parted, Bettina’s eyes remained closed, her senses still ensnared in the memory of the kiss.
Raul, his smile warm and gentle, tenderly touched her cheek. “Hey, it was real!”
Bettina’s eyes snapped open, and she was met with Raul’s handsome countenance leaning closer.
She blushed, startled, and pushed him away slightly before diverting her gaze to the table. “I’m hungry. Let’s eat.”
Seated beside her, Raul picked up two pieces of sushi. “Try this sushi with caviar. This is my favorite.”
“Alright,” Bettina responded, savoring a bite.
The sushi was indeed exquisite, freshly acquired without any detours on his way home.
With his chin resting in one hand, Raul gazed at her with affection in his eyes.
Then, in a more serious tone, he broached a delicate subject. “Bettina, don’t move out. Stay with me. A sudden departure will only give rise to misunderstandings within your family. Your mother will get the wrong idea and come asking questions, and your brother will undoubtedly seek an explanation from me. That will only make things more complicated.”

Bettina fell silent, grappling with the truth of his words.
It was becoming evident that Raul cared deeply for her and was willing to do whatever it took to keep her close.
As she contemplated her next move, she found herself unable to express her earlier desire to move out, realizing that she could be reluctant to do so after all!
That night, Bettina found herself restless, tossing and turning in bed, unable to drift into sleep.
Damn it! She fell for Raul’s ruse!
Frustration welled within her. She had intended to discuss moving out with Raul earlier, but he had adroitly steered the conversation away, leaving her with unresolved feelings.
The memory of their kiss before dinner lingered, distracting her further.
