Chapter 36:
A few days later.
For Greyson, this day was pivotal.
Under Harman Pharma, there was a renowned hospital known as Harmony Hospital. Lamont, Greyson’s father, had been a terrible manager and lost a lot of money. He transferred Harmony Hospital to Universe Financial Group ten years ago. Universe Financial Group owned an investment firm and chemical and biological technology-related businesses, but no hospital.
Their initial intention was audacious: to absorb all of Harman Pharma.
But once Greyson assumed leadership, the corporation took a new direction. He excelled in business, working tirelessly and making quick decisions. Harman Pharma was revived in a very short time.
Under a deal signed ten years ago, Lamont gave Harmony Hospital to Universe Financial Group, with the condition that they would have to return the hospital after ten years, provided they paid off the debt with interest.
The time had finally come to end the deal.
A ransom as high as a billion dollars was expected. Yet Harman Pharma had the means to pay it and was intent on reclaiming Harmony Hospital.
Most importantly, this move held a special place in Greyson’s heart.
The Harman family had reached the end of their darkest time.
He was determined to reclaim all of the Harman family’s former possessions.
The signing took place in a conference room on the top floor of the Jenry Building, managed by Universe Group.
Greyson had his personal assistant, Brooks Glyn, accompany him.
Brooks spoke in a troubled tone. “Mr. Harman, it’s about time Universe Financial Group returned the hospital to you.”
But I don’t expect this to go smoothly. Considering that Harmony Hospital has been a profitable venture for Universe Financial Group over the past decade, I don’t see how they can just hand over this cash cow to you so easily.”
Greyson’s face darkened in response.

Regardless, he had to retake the hospital.
He had never truly loved the commercial world; instead, he preferred being in a hospital.
He would feel far happier and more fulfilled running a hospital than managing a business firm.
In the meeting room, Healy Glyn, the third son of the CEO of Universe Financial Group, was dispatched as the negotiator today. He was dressed to impress and looked every bit like a scoundrel.
The three sons of the CEO had nearly squandered the family fortune over the years.
Because of this, Brooks was more concerned that they’d be reluctant to return the hospital or had other hidden agendas.
Greyson took a seat at the conference table.
Healy announced in a lighthearted manner, “Well, let me set the record straight, Mr. Harman. It’s not that we don’t want to return the hospital. We reexamined the contract with the help of specialists. The contract included an addendum. Your father didn’t get the full version; I have it. Harmony Hospital has legally been part of Universe Financial Group per the addendum.”
Those words made Greyson feel like he was about to explode.
As expected, they were trying to play games.
Healy smiled maliciously, stretched his hands, and said, “We have the services of an attorney, Mr. Harman. She has extensive knowledge in this field. If you have any objections, you should convey them to her.” Then, Healy clapped his hands heartily.
The conference room door opened.
Greyson’s usually indifferent eyes instantly grew cold when he saw the attorney.
She was dressed professionally in a black business suit, wearing gold-rimmed glasses and high heels, carrying a black briefcase. She was stunningly gorgeous, yet still very businesslike, thanks to her bright eyes and minimal makeup.
That was Candice.
By this time, the temperature had dropped sharply to below freezing. The air felt heavy and suffocating.
Greyson was clearly struggling to suppress his anger, evident from the blue veins bulging on his hands.
What on earth was she doing here? And how had she come to represent his enemy?
He recalled her saying that they wouldn’t be friends anymore. Did that mean she would now be his adversary?
