“Lowly woman? Oh, no, you didn’t,” Bettina said menacingly, about to lose her temper.
At that moment, Candice grabbed her by the arm and whispered in her ear, “Don’t worry. I have a way to deal with them.”
After hearing Candice’s words, Bettina contained her fury. Since Candice had decided to handle the situation, she trusted that Candice could take control.
Alta came to Cathy’s aid and blasted Candice, “I thought a wretched girl like you would never manage to land a husband. But it turns out you’re just a conniving slut, always looking to cozy up to a richer, more powerful man and cheat on your spouse. And to top it off, the man you seduced was Mr. Lopez! You’ve got some nerve! Now that the scandal has come to light, Mr. Lopez has dumped you, right? You got what you deserved!”
“Greyson is the director of Harmony Hospital, right? He must be kicking himself for marrying a lowlife like you,” Cathy spat. “You’ll be divorced in no time.”
“You’re nothing but a lowly bitch. Don’t dream of being a proper woman,” Alta sneered. She glanced at the price tags of the clothes Candice had returned. “Oh, wow. Can you even afford any of this?”
Candice simply grinned and replied, “No, I can’t afford any of it. Do you work? It seems you have nothing to do. I doubt you can pay for these clothes.”
Alta bristled at the comment. “I don’t need to work. I can’t even spend all my allowance each month.”
Cathy smirked and grabbed three pieces of the clothes Candice had picked out but not paid for. She flung them onto the sofa and said, “If you can’t afford them, I’ll buy them. I’ll take these three.”
Candice beckoned over the shop assistant. “Come here.”
The shop assistant, sensing a potential conflict, stood by, waiting.
As soon as Candice called her, she walked over.
Candice pointed to Alta and Cathy and declared, “Check out these two. They must be your VIP customers. Make sure to offer them only the best and most expensive clothes you have.”
“Okay.” The shop assistant nodded and quickly scurried away to get the clothes.
