“What are you doing?” Cathy cried, but she was too late.
Besides, she had no excuses she could use to stop Candice. She could only watch as the tags came off, heartbroken. She could no longer return the clothes since the price tags were gone.
When she was done, Candice returned the knife to her bag.
Meanwhile, Bettina was unable to contain her laughter any longer. She held onto Candice’s arm while laughing, “Okay, you can bag them up now.”
The corners of Cathy’s mouth kept twitching.
It finally dawned on her that Candice had completely fooled her.
It turned out that Candice had intended to get Cathy to spend a lot of money from the very beginning. She was easily provoked into spending because of her desire to show off!
Seeing Cathy’s frustration, Alta kept quiet and didn’t dare speak up anymore.
Candice smiled in satisfaction and said, “Bettina, let’s go.” She then waved at Cathy and Alta, bidding them farewell. “Goodbye. Have fun shopping.”
After Candice and Bettina were out of sight, Cathy stamped her feet in a fit of rage, her face contorted. Damn it! She had maxed out her credit card and exceeded her budget for the next two months on clothes she didn’t even like.

At the elevator, Bettina couldn’t help but chuckle. “Candice, you were amazing! Cathy’s face was so red with anger. She got the punishment she deserved. Her family only owns Warren Building Material. How much money could they possibly have? Did she really believe her family was so wealthy that she could do whatever she wanted? Humph. Ten million dollars should be enough to make her regret crossing your path. This feels great!”
Candice hurriedly hushed Bettina. “Stop laughing so loudly. People around us are looking.”
“I don’t care,” Bettina replied playfully. She was in a good mood.
