Chapter 171

Chapter 171:
To get some air, he lowered the window.
It was a pleasant evening with a gentle breeze.
The only problem was that the breeze made him even more irritated. The wrath in his eyes was unmistakable. What was happening to him? Why did he care so much about her?
The Harman family and their interests had been his sole focus for a very long time.
Love was not something he believed in; to him, it was just self-interference and foolishness.
Flooring the gas pedal, the beautiful new Maybach sped into the darkness.
Candice walked toward the underground metro station. As she walked, she scrolled through the day’s headlines on her phone.
The latest updates on Royal Garden Corporation were trending, just as she suspected.
“Upon becoming vice president, Bart will be Milton’s greatest adversary.”
She frowned. That couldn’t be more true.
The recent turn of events seemed to have left an unfavorable impact on Milton.
Why else would he insist that she leave Greyson and marry him? Not only was he dealing with the stock market crash, but also with Bart. When he asked her to marry him, his real goal was to make her voluntarily drop the case.
She didn’t think he was serious about marrying her. Every action any man took was motivated by his own goals.
There was no room for Milton in that, and the same went for Greyson.
They would be the last people to ever win her heart.
While checking her phone, she saw a message from Milton on WhatsApp. It was late at night.
“Where are you?”
She pretended not to see it and switched off the phone.

Greyson sped back to the Harman family home.
Rachel, who had been lounging on the sofa, stood when she spotted him.
“Greyson, there you are. What happened this morning with the ballet troupe? How come someone else owns it now?”
“Forget about it. That doesn’t matter anymore.” Greyson shrugged and tossed his coat on the sofa. “I sold all the shares this afternoon.”
“I see.” Rachel hesitated to press further.
She had heard someone else had bought a large amount of shares in the ballet troupe, causing the stock price to skyrocket. If Greyson had truly sold them, he must be hundreds of millions richer.
She didn’t care whether Madilyn could lead the ballet troupe—they were lucky no money was lost.
What mattered was whether Greyson could raise the Harmans’ financial standing and help her climb higher in society’s ranks.
She would appreciate it if Madilyn just quit dancing. If that happened, Madilyn would bear Greyson’s child. She was glad Greyson hadn’t kept the ballet troupe.
