Chapter 325
Chapter 325:
She scanned through Candice’s previous medical records and pregnancy data, then asked, “What’s the matter? Did you come here for a regular examination?”
Candice showed the doctor her appointment and explained, “I noticed some bleeding this morning and wanted to get checked. While researching online, I saw someone mention it could be a threatened miscarriage.”
“Don’t trust everything you read on the internet. It’s always best to see a doctor to be sure. Can you tell me if you’re experiencing heavy bleeding or just a small amount? Is this your first time experiencing this?” Essie inquired.
Candice shook her head and responded, “It’s just a small amount, and it’s the first time this has happened. Probably only a few milliliters.”
Essie quickly typed out a prescription on her computer and instructed Candice, “First, go to the lab and have your HCG levels checked, then do a color ultrasonic diagnosis. I checked the date of your last examination—it was too long ago. You should come more often. Why didn’t you come to the hospital sooner?”
Candice felt a hint of embarrassment as she replied, “I’m sorry. I’ve been busy with work lately.”
“You young people are always saying that you’re too busy. Isn’t your child important to you? Why wait until something bad happens before coming to the hospital? Do you even want this baby?” Essie criticized.
Candice became a little anxious and quickly replied, “Doctor, I really want this baby! Is everything going to be okay?”
Essie took a quick glance at Candice and said, “Since it wasn’t a heavy bleeding episode, let’s start with the checkup first. Take this form and pay the bill before doing the color ultrasonic diagnosis. You don’t need to wait in line.”
“Alright, thank you, doctor.” Candice took the form and got up to leave the office.
Just then, a man walked out of a compartment in Essie’s office. It was none other than Greyson.
As Candice had been waiting outside for half an hour, he finally arrived at the hospital. Mario had arranged for him to enter Essie’s office through the back door.
As soon as Candice left, Greyson’s face turned sullen. He had heard her say that she wanted to keep Milton’s child.
He clenched his fists tightly, trying his best to control his anger and not let it show in front of others.
Essie approached him respectfully and said, “Mr. Harman, she bled. I think it might be a threatened miscarriage. She’s currently having a color ultrasonic diagnosis done. Please wait a moment for the results.”
“Okay,” Greyson nodded.
Essie couldn’t help but steal a few glances at the handsome young man in front of her. He was the director of Harmony Hospital, an important figure in the medical industry. If she could get in his good graces, she would have a bright future ahead of her.
Although Essie wondered what was going on between Mr. Harman and the woman called Candice, she knew it was none of her concern.
About an hour later, Essie received Candice’s blood test results on her computer system. She took a look and informed Greyson, “Dr. Harman, her HCG is low. Her condition is not ideal.”
