“Okay, just don’t forget to attend the Yamonia ambassador’s birthday party. You should head back home and change into something formal at five o’clock,” Bettina reminded her.
“Don’t worry. I won’t forget. I’m not one to drop the ball on important things. I had something urgent to do this morning, but I won’t let it happen again,” Candice assured her.
Just as she finished speaking, Candice’s phone started ringing. Milton’s name was displayed on the screen. She scrunched up her face and debated whether or not to answer the call. Bettina noticed her hesitation and asked, “Aren’t you going to answer your call?”
“We are in the middle of a meeting. I’ll return his call later,” Candice said as she reached to hang up the call, but Bettina abruptly hit the answer button and reprimanded her, “How could you not pick up the phone when our biggest client is calling?”
Candice was taken aback.
Milton’s voice echoed through the phone, “Have you eaten yet?”
Candice rubbed her temples and replied, “Yes, I’m in a meeting right now. If this isn’t important, I’ll have to hang up.”
“Okay,” Milton replied.
Suddenly, Bettina’s voice came through the phone. “Dear partners, I’ve decided to expand our establishment, Hope Law Firm. I’m hoping you can all help find a new office for us. It needs to be at least five thousand square meters and preferably near the senior court. We’ll need a separate lobby and a large multifunctional conference room as well.”
Candice shot a piercing stare at Bettina upon hearing her blabber about the new office. Even though Bettina knew she was on the phone, she still spoke loudly. Candice was sure Bettina did it intentionally.
Sure enough, Milton’s voice boomed through the phone, “Will you be moving to a new office? And you haven’t found a suitable place yet? Do you need my help?”

Candice cut him off. “It’s our firm’s affair, and we’ll handle it on our own. It’s not your business.”
But then Bettina snatched Candice’s phone and put it on speaker. “Mr. Lopez, if you have a suitable office building to rent, please consider renting it to us.”
Candice glared at Bettina. “Why did you do that? We can find a good place ourselves.”
Bettina scowled. “Why can’t we seek his help? I’ll pay the rent. Moreover, with Hope Law Firm in it, the office building’s status will be elevated. We will transform our law firm into the biggest and most prominent in Ploville. It’s a win-win situation.”
Milton’s voice came through the phone again. “The Royal Garden Corporation’s headquarters are twin towers. The entire ancillary building is available for rent, and the top five floors are currently unoccupied. It spans over 6,000 square meters with luxurious décor. It’s just a ten-minute walk from the senior court. The building boasts state-of-the-art multifunctional conference rooms, five high-end reception rooms, and a separate lobby.
