Jarrod hesitated before continuing, “Sorry, Mr. Lopez. Without your permission, I followed the taxi she took. When I saw her enter East Hospital, I grew concerned about her health, so I trailed her secretly. I thought that if there was an emergency, I could report to you in time. But…”
He paused, weighing whether he should reveal more since it was Candice’s private matter.
Milton’s eyebrows furrowed further. “But what?”
“Miss Blake visited the obstetrics and gynecology department and underwent a B-ultrasound examination,” Jarrod revealed.
Milton’s mind raced. He couldn’t think clearly. Was Jarrod sure Candice had gone to the obstetrics and gynecology department?
Why would she go there? Could it be… was she pregnant?
Jarrod lowered his head after speaking, hesitant to meet Milton’s gaze.
He still remembered the time Milton had asked him to talk to Candice—to give her contraceptive pills and warn her to take them. But she had thrown the pills away immediately.
Later, Jarrod learned more about her background and found out she was married.
Although Milton’s attitude toward Candice now was much different than before, Jarrod didn’t know if Milton still didn’t want Candice to become pregnant.
After accidentally discovering that Candice was pregnant, Jarrod wrestled with whether to tell Milton and finally decided to inform him.
Milton looked confused but quickly regained his composure. He reached for his phone, intending to call Candice to confirm the news.
However, he stopped just before tapping the call button.
Should he ask her directly? Or should he find out the truth first? After weighing his options, he put the phone down. Narrowing his eyes, he ordered, “Jarrod, find the doctor she met today and give them some money. I want to know all the details of Candice’s pregnancy. Also, get the test reports.”

As Jarrod was about to leave, Milton suddenly stood and called out, “Wait.”
Jarrod turned respectfully. “Sir, is there anything else I can do for you?”
Milton picked up his suit jacket and hurried over to Jarrod. “I’ll go to East Hospital with you. I know some people there,” he said, his tone tinged with anxiety.
“Yes, sir,” Jarrod answered, glancing sideways at Milton. Milton looked tense and solemn. Jarrod couldn’t read his thoughts.
Meanwhile, Milton’s mind was blank, and his heart restless.
Candice was pregnant. Could she be carrying his child? He hoped it was true but couldn’t be certain.
After all, Candice and Greyson were still legally married, so it was natural they had been intimate. What if the child was Greyson’s?
But if it was Greyson’s child, why did Candice go to East Hospital instead of Greyson’s Harmony Hospital?
