Chapter 360
Chapter 360:
Madilyn pretended to be surprised and replied, “How about you change your glass with mine?”
She then swapped their wine glasses.
Madilyn looked down at her glass and smiled evilly. She had already guessed that Candice would suspect her.
She was waiting for her to say it because she had added the drug to her wine. She had hidden the drug in her fingernails and shaken the glass on purpose to spike the wine.
Madilyn had gotten the drug from that evil man. Although she didn’t want to be controlled by him, he was her only source of the drug that couldn’t be bought on the market.
The man was her only chance at defeating Candice.
The drug’s effect was so potent that Candice only had to take a sip of the wine for Madilyn’s plan to succeed.
Candice accepted the glass of wine that Madilyn was about to drink. She glanced at her and said, “Madilyn, whether we can get along depends on you, not me. Since you are sincere, I have no reason to refuse.”
Madilyn raised her glass and took a few sips.
Candice also sipped a little wine before putting down the glass. She gave Madilyn one last look before turning to leave.
Watching as Candice left, Madilyn snorted, thinking that despite being a lawyer, Candice was still easily fooled by her.
She believed she had overestimated her.
Just then, Rachel came over and asked in a hushed tone, “How did it go?”
Madilyn put a finger to her lips and whispered, “Hush! There are too many people around. Keep your voice down. Don’t worry. She drank the wine I spiked.”
Rachel gave Madilyn a thumbs up and praised her, “Good job. Let’s watch the show tonight. I won’t let this bitch have it easy.”

Madilyn looked at her phone and frowned. “Why isn’t Greyson here yet? We can only begin our plan when he arrives,” she said with concern.
Rachel glanced around and said, “He has been very busy recently. I haven’t seen him for a long time. Let me send him a message to urge him.”
Madilyn nodded and replied, “Okay.”
Candice entered the dressing room and looked at her reflection in the mirror. She fished out a Bluetooth headset, jammed it into her ear, and started listening to something. But as she listened, her expression soured like milk left out in the sun. After a while, she exited the dressing room and ran into Bettina before going back into the party hall.
Bettina looked like a million bucks in her formal black dress. Her short hair made her look calm and forthright, matching her dress.
But when she saw Candice, she wasted no time pulling her aside.
“What’s happening between you and Madilyn?” she asked, her tone sharp as a knife. “You have talked for quite a long time. Did she give you any trouble?”
